I've worked on this build for the last few months.
I've dropped a few pics here and there. But wanted to wait till I test fired it . I got to shoot it today and it didn't blow up! I have to work on the feed ramp on the chamber to make feeding better .

First I need to thank a few people.

Loki for giving me a 80% for swapping struts on a car for him .

Boris for the advice and stupid questions I've asked him over there years.

7.62x39 for advice also .

Comrademushstash For helping me get grease gun mags.

My work, scrap bins.

Any one else i forgot thanks.

Why a ARish gun in 45acp.
I'm american I don't like that shit tiny german 9mm bull shit. I like 45 I shoot and carry a 1911 and a xds. I reload 45 and not in to having a lot of guns in different cals. Making shopping easier And Id rather not shoot twice .

Why a scratch build.
I'm cheap . 45 uppers go for 700-900$+. Which is wicked retarded in my book. Theres only two lowers you can buy that take grease gun mags. They go for 300-400$ish . There's been others that take 45 mags but there hit or miss or hard to find. Or didn't want to deal with crappy uzi 45 knock off mags etc.
My other two 45 builds will be using grease gun mags.

Also I wanted it to be buffer less (folding stock)
My build cost me around 300$.

I'll start with the bolt . Since that's what I made first .

I new I was gonna use 1.25 x 1.25 aluminum tube that has 1 inch Id . So I new to make the bolt around .980 ish

Parts I used on it where a Mac 10 recoils spring and guide rod and extractor .
Ar15 firing pin shortened .

Next I started on the lower .

I made the magwell out of two parts and extra big so it wouldn't warp from welding. Chopped of the stock magwell and welded iron and milled away more metal.

Barrel ...

Cheap 16 inch 1911 barrel . Heals in to the upper with a barrel block . It's pinned very much like a ak barrel . Then the block is riveted In with ak long rivets .

If you know 1911's the barrel has a hood stub thing and I had to grind it away.

This was like the 3 or 5th round I fired
My firing pin spacer shifted and I need to work on the feed ramp more.

Cut down the screws for the ejector and add a finish .

Feel free to ask any questions . I'll update with another video once I take care of the feeding problems .

Nice work Ben, it looks fairly light too.

Any plans to file a tax stamp for it to be an SBR with a folding stock?

Is that where the trigger ended up?

Nope that trigger you sent me is going into a magpul pdr clone I'm building which I'll need to sbr(with a 16 barrel it's still too small lol) that will be 5.56 and 45 . So I'm gonna make it with the same length barrel they planed 10-12 ish.
I used this as a test bed for the 45 kit for that. So I don't want to waste money on a stamp on this.

It's stupid light tho since the barrel is so thin.

I did some chamfer work on the bolt and chamber and its feeding by hand again.

I should be hitting the range to zero my ar this week so I'll be testing this too.

Awesome man! You can actually say you built this, unlike the rest of us that say we built our AR 's. Nope, we just throw a few detents and springs in it and call it or build.
I'm really jealous that some people know how to do all this.
