Did you wend your way to any badge cam footage?
I found this,
which is on the longer side of all the
dozens of excerpts on YoutUbe alone:
It's like a freight train of burning dumpsters.
About the only saving grace was that it was too cold
for a crowd to gather. And it's probably too cold
to gut the city with a touch of the old BLM RiotLootBurn.
One of the key phrases you hear again and again
is, "you need to tell that officer what you said(?)".
Which
may be an allusion to the suicide threat.
(Or
may be evidence of some (violent) crime within the household).
I'm sure it's bad form to bring a detained minor
into the ER with a helping of hypothermia,
let alone even an eyelash of frostbite.
But at this point, with multiple cops suspended
they can't possibly still think they were smart
to obsess on getting the girl stuffed in the car
like there was a kitchen timer about to go off.
The woman was trying to whip things up aganst the cops,
but no one was gathering to mob up.
The cops were probably nervous that time was not on their side,
but in retrospect they may have been dancing to adrenaline
telling them to rush the situation to keep things "under control".
You know who I
really don't envy?
- The next cop who catches a domestic call from this messed-up family.
- Whatever member of this messed-up family needs police help for a domestic disturbance.
Every cop in the entire city is going to be inhibited,
because of the risk the situation will go pear-shaped again
and
they'll get suspended, sued, fired, prosecuted...
At the very least, any future response is going to be 100% by the book,
painfully so.
Sigh.
