From the sounds of it, he did everyone a favor, but good thing he didn't take anyone with him:

Swanzy – A Winchester man shot himself in the head as he drove on Route 32 after shooting at his girlfriend’s fleeing car.
Police — called by Eric Hatt’s panicked girlfriend — watched as Hatt’s Ford Explorer rolled over several times and came to rest against a tree Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. Assistant Deputy Medical Examiner Cheryl Pinney said that Hatt was dead before the accident.
In a written statement, N.H. State Police Lt. Jerome A. Maslan said that Hatt, 25, and his girlfriend got into an argument in Winchester about 6 p.m. State police refused to name the girlfriend, who drove off with a friend as Hatt followed in a Ford Explorer.
The girlfriend told police Hatt “followed the two in a reckless manner attempting to get them to stop” as they drove along Route 32, Maslan wrote.
“According to the two victims, Mr. Hatt displayed a handgun out the window of his vehicle, pointing it in their direction,” Maslan wrote.
A bullet struck the rear of their car. The girlfiend called 911 and Swanzey police responded at 6:26 p.m.
Swanzey police saw Hatt’s Explorer headed south on Route 32 near the Congregational Church. The cruisers turned around to pursue Hatt. Within a short distance, police said, Hatt’s Explorer left the road and rolled over, ending up against a tree.
In June 2005, Hatt was sentenced to a year in New Hampshire State Prison in Concord after admitting he had ingested five bags of heroin, trying to jeopardize a drug investigation in Troy. During that investigation, the SWAT team was called to the residence when a trooper heard a gun being loaded after he identified himself and knocked on the door.
Hatt had twice been arrested for assault, including in 2003 when he allegedly pulled two fistfuls of hair out of a woman’s head.
Swanzey police and state police were on Route 32 investigating the shooting until 12:30 a.m. yesterday, Maslan said. The two-lane highway runs past Keene’s Dillant-Hopkins Airport and Monadnock Regional High School, just south of Keene and on into Massachusetts.
