We are excited to unveil two NEW MAIN EVENTS for 2023! Let’s get to it!
Stock Minor
Springfield Armory’s XD-M Elite 5.25” Precision Handgun qualifies for the new Stock Minor division.
Firearms qualifying for the new Stock Minor division are basic stock guns but we’re allowing barrel lengths up to 5.5” for semi-autos. Several manufactures are making great guns with barrel lengths over 5” that still meet the size requirement for USPSA’s production division. Pistols like Springfield Armory’s XD-M Elite 5.25” Precision Handgun (pictured above) is a prime example of a qualifying firearm.
The other primary difference? A new pin set that requires less power factor. Like all 5 Pin Main Events, all pins have to completely clear the table and hit either the ground or backstop. To accommodate smaller calibers, a new pin configuration was devised. Pins on the bottom row will be placed 1’ from the back of the table. Pins on the middle and top shelves will be placed 2’ and 3’ from the edge respectively. To accommodate this set up we’re adding shelf extensions to the middle rows.
Early demonstrations with standard 9mm 124 grain loads proved that center hits will clear the pins off all rows. We’re in the process of gathering power factor data on different factory loads and will be publishing these results in a blog post soon.
PCC (Main Event)
mail
This JP Enterprises’ JP-5 9mm Carbine outfitted with a red dot optic and compensator qualifies for the new PCC Main Event.
Since it’s launch in 2021 the PCC Optional Event has been the fastest growing event at the Pin Shoot. Turns out shooting pins with consistent quarter second splits is pretty fun! So, we decided to feed the beast by adding a PCC Main Event.
A qualifying pistol caliber carbine is semi-auto, has no barrel length requirement, allows for holographic / red dot optics, muzzle brakes, compensators and even suppressors. We’re sticking with the 8 rounds per gun to start but reload capacity is unlimited rule.
The 5 Pin configuration will be the same as the Stock Minor division. All pins have to be knocked off the table and hit either the ground or backstop.
Other Notes
  • We’ve created a Specification for Pin Range and Pin Set Configurations which lays out just about everything we could think of for Pin Shooting. Be sure to check it out!

  • The 9x12 and PCC Optional Events have not changed. They will continue to be “tip over” events and their pin sets will remain the same. This will allow us to continue using pins that are nearing the end of their usefulness if you know what we mean.

  • To make room for these events we’ve had to sacrifice the Big Push prize table. The Big Push will now be a 50/50 cash event.
We’re excited about these new Main Events and we hope you are too. We believe the introduction of Stock Minor will be the perfect way to attract new shooters so please help us spread the word!
We’ll send another note tomorrow when registration opens but don’t forget to take advantage of our Black Friday sale for special discounts on entry fees.
If you have questions try visiting our website at www.pinshoot.com. We’re always happy to answer email questions but we’ll be off the grid until mid-November so please bear with us.
Sincerely,
The Pin Shoot Team

i would respectfully call BS on that, as i tried shooting pins like that with my CZ shadow at 20 yds, with this 124gr ammo, and, well, it would sometimes knock them off, but often enough not.
to clear it needs to be completely off the table, ain`t it not? shadow 2 has a 4.6" barrel, not that much off from 5.25".
