A byf 44 (1944, Obendorf mauserwerk plant). Some numbers match, others dont. The original finish was removed and everything was re-blued at some point. Some of the markings are a little shallow. I can't tell if the new bluing filled them in a little or some sort of "scrubbing" was done at some point. It doesn't have the heavy "X"'s that were stamped into the Russian Capture rifles I've seen. There's also none of the "electro-stencil" markings that the RC's had done to them. There are no import markings on it. The stock is from a Yugoslavian capture, but nothing else about the rifle points to it being a capture. She may not be so historically accurate, however I bought the rifle because it's a great shooter, in beautiful condition, and the price was decent. She shoots real nice.
