Pheasant hunting

I get it in a way. Stocking pheasants shouldn't cost other hunters money. But at the same time they shouldn't be stocking the Quabbin with rattle snakes

Every day on the quabbin if I lived there and frequented the area. "It was coming right for me!" Someone's dog already got hit
I almost sat on one gopher hunting this year. Just shy of four feet. I dispatched it with my 22. We are encouraged to remove them here.

What was the rationale for repopulating them there? Excessive rodent problems, or did someone just think the state should have them again? Cuz, given the population out there and the fact that every square inch of the state has humans and pets, not the best idea.

My guess - too many eggheads and too much funding. A bit of arrogance sprinkled in. Supposedly they're "supposed to live there"

From what I've read, an island on the Quabbin. The dipshits, on record, said they couldn't swim

That’s where they were supposed to go. They may have released them in the end but there was a huge out cry against it.

They didn’t even need to swim. There is a bridge to the island they were going to release them on.😂😂😂

The permit for pheasants just reminded me of the other money scheme thing they did by getting rid of the primitive stamp and creating a archery stamp and a muzzle loading stamp. The excuse was so they could "get more accurate numbers " as far as how many were hunting what season. The problem with that excuse was that they would still allow you to bowhunt during muzzle loading as long as you purchased a muzzle loading stamp.

You're better off giving your money to a bird club.
This....you'll get a better experience for sure.

I do have to say the MA pheasant stocking program is not a bad program. Especially now that there are a lot of people aged out of hunting birds now and the state covers don't get the traffic they used to. Mid week there is always birds. Wasn't always that way 5 years ago. Loaded with older boomers, and crowds.
