Any chance there is a rattle snake season?I get it in a way. Stocking pheasants shouldn't cost other hunters money. But at the same time they shouldn't be stocking the Quabbin with rattle snakes

I almost sat on one gopher hunting this year. Just shy of four feet. I dispatched it with my 22. We are encouraged to remove them here.Every day on the quabbin if I lived there and frequented the area. "It was coming right for me!" Someone's dog already got hit
My guess - too many eggheads and too much funding. A bit of arrogance sprinkled in. Supposedly they're "supposed to live there"I almost sat on one gopher hunting this year. Just shy of four feet. I dispatched it with my 22. We are encouraged to remove them here.
What was the rationale for repopulating them there? Excessive rodent problems, or did someone just think the state should have them again? Cuz, given the population out there and the fact that every square inch of the state has humans and pets, not the best idea.
Yup exactly. My guess - too many eggheads and too much funding. A bit of arrogance sprinkled in. Supposedly they're "supposed to live there"
From what I've read, an island on the Quabbin. The dipshits, on record, said they couldn't swimYup exactly.
I always thought that they had already bought the snakes when word of wha they were doing was leaked……I wonder where they were released.

This....you'll get a better experience for sure. You're better off giving your money to a bird club.
Due to public opposition they scrapped that hairbrained plan in 2017 and decided to concentrate on helping out the existing populations in spots they already are elsewhere in the stateBut at the same time they shouldn't be stocking the Quabbin with rattle snakes
