Permanently Attaching Muzzle Brake on AR?

Like I said earlier, painting your rifle isn't going to help prevent rust, which is what your rifle's finish is meant to do in the first place.

Cold blue it. Then paint it if you're hell bent on painting your rifle.

Keep in mind that if you get your barrel (and as a consequence, the brake) sizzling HOT, then you need to apply a product that will take the heat. The cold blue, as suggested by John early on, will take the heat.

Cheap paint usually won't take the heat.

What do you do if you weld the muzzle brake on and you want to change your handguard down the road? Most handguards I have seen require the removal of the sights and muzzle brake. Thanks,

You can drill out the pin and weld or cut off the front sight/gas block and then mount a 2 piece
