    I used to love to eat Mayo sandwiches. Actually it was Miracle Whip since that's what my mom bought. I knew a guy that liked peanut butter, mustard and pickle sandwiches. I don't care what anyone eats. It they like it good for them.

    Yes, but, doesn't mean I can't think something's gross :p I'm sure I've eaten stuff others would think was gross.

    True, but I didn't mention what I thought about what they were eating just that I didn't care what they ate. I certainly can think of some gross things or at least things that sound gross when it comes to food. Pigs feet, lambs tongue, snail or escargot if you prefer etc.;):D

    Always get extra tartar sauce with my fish & chips to dip my fries. I NEVER use ketchup. I love fries and tartar sauce.

    1 1/2 c. mayo - preferably homemade, made with olive oil NOT Rapeseed ("Canola") oil
    1/4 c. dill pickle relish (again, pref. homemade)
    1 Tablespoon drained capers
    1 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
    1/4 c. (or to taste) chopped pickled jalapeno
    1 small clove garlic, crushed
    1 small minced shallot (approx. 2 Tablespoon)
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    salt and pepper to taste

    NOPE. New guidelines from the Grilled Cheese Bureau state that the only options for this classic is either butter or mustard. Mayo was removed in 2015 because it's...well...NASTY. :)

    My great grandfather died when I was in high school. He was born in 1888 died in 1990. So he was around in the time when you ate anything because you had to. His favorite thing we used to get him for his bday and stuff was a big jar of pickled lamb tongue.

    At a Vietnamese restaurant, I was eating a different dish than usual(we normally would go for Pho)and I picked up a red jello cube and asked the waitress what it was. She said "pigs blood, try it's good for you" I was like meh whatever and ate it.

    Nothing should EVER be made with Canola. The # of chemical processes it goes through makes me afraid. Hell, I've cut back on my obvious less-than-often use of "shortening" because I found out it's a by-product of canola processing. Yikes!

    Industrial seed oils are poison. Dropping them means dropping a lot of processed food. Just reading labels helps there is often another brand same price without crap oils. Don't be fooled by organic labeling, organic seed oil is still poison.

    WTF is a processed food???? LOL. My fridge is F-U-L-L on shopping day. And often full again when I do weekend-shopping on Fridays. And the pantry is empty, for the most part. I'm betting most of it is backup spices and things like chicken and beef stock, etc.,

    Why?

    We've gone from a diet of takeout pizza, toast and PB, mac'n'cheese and such to fresh veggies and meat. Little else. The bottom shelf of my fridge is pretty much all meats and eggs. The second shelf is chock-full of veggies. I'm trying to think of any processed foods we eat. Maybe my son's chicken nuggets, but even those are pretty healthy.

    Hell, I went deep-end paleo/atkins about 2 years ago (with regular cheating - I'm no savage! Man cannot live without chocolate chip cookies. LOL) and stopped eating potatoes, rice and pasta. Had to rework all sorts of foods like chicken pot pie (no mashed) and sausage cacciatore (no rice or pasta).

    I gotta start buying lard at Trucchi's for frying. :)

    I LOOOVE mayo. I even like Miracle Whip, but not as much. Prefer Cains. One of those toppings I can put on literally anything. I may try this. Never thought of it before.

    living in hawaii as a kid, my school sold little snacks for the kids which was geared for hawaiians, asians and pacific islanders. white kids, there were maybe 6 of us in the school. dried cuttlefish was a huge seller. and your right, the stink! as soon as the package was opened that fish stink blew through the school. and then try talking to someone face to face who just ate some. that fish breath stink lasted all day. I did take a nibble of the cuttlefish once, no f'n way would I do it again.

    i acquired a taste for ling hing mui when I lived there, dried, salted plums. I still get them at the asian stores, but now as an old dude with a limited salt intake I got to be cautious and just do 1 or 2 every once in a while.

    Gimme home-made chipotle/garlic aioli. Made with 1/3 olive oil, 2/3 peanut oil. My fam KILLS for that stuff. Yet I only make about a cup every few months. I don't want to make too much and have it go bad. So I make about the cup. Then it goes. And I can't be bothered making it again. Cleaning the mini-chopper is more of a hassle than actually making it.

    Maybe for Christmas.

    For my fellow mayo fans with a stick blender the stuff is easy to make. Example One Minute Whole30 Mayo (Made with Immersion Blender) - 40 Aprons
    Basically an egg, oil, vinegar or lemon juice. Add whatever else you want. Olive oil is too dark for good flavor, avocado oil is best(in taste and health) but harder to find at a reasonable price.

    I was gonna post about this...use to eat this all the time as a kid and it is delicious.....But I also wanted to add peanut butter with American cheese is also tasty...anyone ever try one of those?
