Shooters:

Unfortunately, the 3Gun match scheduled for Saturday, 10/27, at Pelham Fish & Game has been cancelled.

What appears below is the e-mail I just sent to all the shooters who preregistered. It explains more fully the reasons why we feel a cancellation is necessary.

Dear Shooter:

Regrettably, we have decided to cancel the 3Gun match scheduled for Saturday, October 27 at Pelham Fish & Game.

There is no one reason for the cancellation. Instead, it was a number of factors.

Let me share some of them with you.

Lack of staff. Several critical members of our match staff are either injured or unavailable due to
work commitments. This impacted dramatically our ability to construct stages the morning of the match.
In short, We simply did not have the manpower to run the match to the same standards you
saw this past June. Nor were we able to dedicate the time to build the props and target arrays that we
determined were necessary; as many of you know, 3Gun matches are logistically challenging.

Calendar. Unfortunately, it gets light later and dark earlier this time of year. We are unable to
start setting the range up early enough to bring you a quality match. In all likelihood we would not
have started shooting before 10:00 a.m. and would have still been shooting after dark.
If we decide to schedule 3Gun matches in the future, they will not be so late in the year.

Venue. We were denied permission to close the Action Ranges the afternoon before for match set up. Additionally,
our budget for purchasing supplies was revoked or delayed so substantially, we did not have the time
to buy what we judged to be critical supplies for the match.

Risk of injury. The action ranges underwent a change earlier this year that was characterized
as an improvement. The floors of our shooting bays were covered with tons of beach sand. As you
know, beach sand does not lend itself to rapid, dynamic movement.

I hope this gives you a sense of the constraints we faced in organizing this particular match and
conveys the sense of disappointment that we too feel in having to cancel.

I hope to see all of you again soon.

Thank you,

Pelham Fish & Game Match Staff
