Paris Shooting - S.O.S.

“French police on Friday fired teargas amid clashes with agitated protesters outside a Kurdish community center in the heart of Paris, where a gunman earlier killed three people and injured four others in an attack with possible racist underpinnings...

Clashes with dozens of protesters, mostly from the Kurdish diaspora, broke out during Darmanin’s visit to the site of the attack on Friday...

Police in Paris and across France have been ordered to protect Kurdish sites and Turkish diplomatic institutions following the attack, according to Darmanin.“

Protecting the hell out of the Kurds - thoughtfully firing tear gas to help the masses weep for those killed or injured.

Lot's of problems between Turkish state and Kurdish groups, just a few weeks ago there was a bombing in crowded Taksim downtown area İstanbul where several killed and ~100 injured. Turkish gov blamed rebel Kurds.

I don’t understand how this could happen with all the strict gun laws over there.

Look them up. French gun laws aren't really all that strict. They're roughly on a par with MA, and hunting weapons are even easier to get and much easier to store.

Of course, this guy was fresh outta prison, so that should have complicated things. But it complicates things here, too, and I've no doubt the French black market is just as robust as ours is.

“ The suspected gunman in Friday’s attack, which killed two men and one woman, told police that he has in recent years developed a “hatred of foreigners that has become completely pathological,” Laure Beccuau, the Paris prosecutor, said. Police, however, have found nothing to link the suspect, a 69-year-old Frenchman, to extreme-right ideology, the prosecutor added.”

A pathological hatred for foreigners, yet no link to extreme-right ideologies? That’s a refreshing perspective - the Left attributes xenophobia to the extremist-right in the US…

So the guy is a national socialist then.
