Painting a Glock Slide

Bumping this just to state how bad the new Glock finishes are. I recently discovered that my 1yr old G43 has a pretty bad rusty slide issue. I carried it all summer in a coyote brown Raven Kydex holster. I noticed it earlier this year, but I thought it was just the Kydex rubbing off on the slide and never paid it much mind until I went to clean it and switch over to my G19 for the winter. I'm assuming the sweat getting into the holster may have been a factor, but I have 20-year-old Glock's that are pristine in comparison. I've got Steve at Northeast Arms cerakoting it now. Googling it, I found several other people have had the same issue. Anyone else see this?

I've got a gen4 30 that I've daily carried for a little over 2 years and after the first year I noticed the same thing with some rust on the slide, I carry in kydex too. I haven't paid any mind to it honestly because the slides pretty marked up from unholstering and reholstering a couple thousand times since it's also my primary range pistol. I wasn't impressed with the finish but didn't have anything to compare it to since it's my only Glock, the finish has almost completely worn off on the front and top corner of the slide where it rubs the holster.

Guys, cerakote will wear off that thing the second you put it into a kydex holster with even the smallest amount of grit in it. If your gun just sits in a safe until your bi-monthly indoor range trip to go punch holes in a silhouette target (or to post internet pics), then go for it, but if you actually use the thing with a holster outside I'd suggest a different finish (like PVD/ionbond), especially if you just want it to be black.

Or, just spray paint it. Aervoe works well, but I have a Glock slide in Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy that is pretty durable.

I hear VHT Epoxy spray paint is good too, its like 6 or 7 bucks a can at Autozone. I may re-do that slide in VHT satin, because the appliance epoxy is kind of shiny.
