I applied for my PA LTC a week ago and yesturday it showed up in the mail. It took just over 1 WEEK from sending it in to having it in my mailbox. Centre County was also in the process of changing their systems which makes it even more impressive. Everyone needs to apply for one. Valid for 5 years and only $26. MA needs to learn some lessons from that great state

And that gets you what? It is not any good as a reciprocal licence with the states that have that agreement with PA. You have to be a resident of PA and have a res. LTC from PA to have that benefit. That is at least in our local region. Anotherwords, it will not do you any good in NH or Maine.

Just thought I would toss this factoid out there.

There was a problem in PA a while ago where some police agencies were not recognizing the validity of out of state licenses, even though their law provided for reciprocity. $26 is cheap insurance against that confusion, particularly if you are visiting areas like Philly which have anti-gun attitudes that can make Boston look like a bunch of amateurs.

I travel around the Philly area a lot so I can now carry concealed throughout the state of PA. What more could I ask for? I could have gone for a FL LTC and enjoyed reciprocity in many more states but for $26 and a one week turn-around time, I think this was a smart move. I would much rather have a PA LTC instead of an FL LTC if I ever had to explain to a cop that I was carrying legally.
