PA - Armored Car Guard Shoots, Kills Would-Be Robber

A man is dead after a security guard opened fire during an attempted robbery in Philadelphia's Germantown section.

It happened around 9:40 a.m. Thursday at a Family Dollar Store in the 5200 block of Germantown Avenue.

A Garda armored car was parked outside, and police say the suspect followed a guard from the armored car and into the store. He grabbed the guard by the neck and tried to take the money, police said.
