19 year old woman shot and killed on homeowner's doorstep - so the story goes, she was in a car accident, was asking for help and homeowner opened fire. They aren't saying much more than this, no other details as to what led the homeowner to fire, but already, the families and friends and other elements are starting the "no justice, no peace" chants:

Wednesday evening, about 40 family members and friends of McBride attended the vigil at the home, a tan brick bungalow, where she died. Residents did not appear to be home.

Those who gathered prayed and chanted, “No justice, no peace” and “Justice for Renisha.” Some relatives broke down in tears as they approached the porch where the shooting occurred.

“We’re looking for justice to be served,” said community activist Ron Scott. He urged Worthy to bring charges in the case.

The Rev. W.J. Rideout added, “We are not going to let him get away with this senseless act he committed against this 19-year-old girl.”

- I really hope there is more to this story, for the homeowner's sake. Either way, they're going to squeeze this one out until it breaks.

you will....but will the family or the angry mobs gathering in front of the man's house be interested? will they care even if it turns out that yeah, he had good reason to be panicked?

ill be interested in hearing the occupants version of the story.

There isn't a whole lot of anything in the story. Need to hear the evidence before drawing a conclusion. But if the story is what the family contends (on the porch and shot in the back of the head), It's going to be a shitstorm.

Who am I kidding. It'll be a shitstorm no matter what evidence is brought forth

Not only will it be a shitstorm, it comes at the heels of that Australian report linking gun ownership to racism. If you've never been to Dearborn, its not far from Detroit, or better yet, not FAR ENOUGH from Detroit. Its predominantly white, middle class neighborhoods, so you KNOW the media and usual gang of idiots are going to milk this for all its worth - no matter WHO was right or wrong.

the key ingredients is victim black, home owner is lighter colored, otherwise there is no point.

The 19-year-old from Detroit died of a shotgun blast to the head outside the home in the 16800 block of Outer Drive near Warren Avenue. Dearborn Heights police said they have “identified the person who fired the shot and killed the woman.”

seriouspost: i know detroit is a ****ing warzone, but really... details on this incident? you don't just blow someone's head off their shoulders with a shotgun for no reason. what dafuq happened?

If the homeowner ganked her just because she rang the doorbell, then he deserves the chair. There might be more to the story, difficult to say yet.

probably wrong crack house, the one that doesn't extend credit or bath salts.

I'm waiting for skittles to brand some ammo ... then I buy.

Spinks said she believes her niece was racially profiled.

oh yeah, that's it!

Half the country is deperately seeking an outrage - any outrage - to keep their anti-gun fantasy alive. It's almost as if the left got a taste of success with some of the state level legislative anti-gun victories and they're going full steam ahead. Having a socialist in the white house making a mockery of the rule of law in the name of "progress by any means" doesn't help.

I wouldn't expect them to let any potential "crisis" go to waste from here on out. Particularly not where there's a shooting death and race and/or political ideology are concerned.

Couple of problems: she may have been shot in the back of the head as she was leaving and the shooter may not have called the police after the event. These allegations have yet to be substantiated, but if factual, could put a different perspective on the event. Let's not blame the victim (who was a high school grad and working at Ford) until we have more facts...

at 19, it sucks that she's dead. Im not blaming her at all, I do however want to see all of the facts of the case come out because I fear that the homeowner is already being convicted without a trial by public.

way too much info missing.

if this happened as the girls family is saying, there is not 1 police dept in the country that wouldn't have arrested the homeowner (unless he was a cop too, and then he'd be on a paid vacation)

Years ago before cell phones were mainstream, I saw someone get hit by a car. I was with a friend, he went to the victim, and I ran to the closest house I could find. I banged on the door, yelling for them to call 911. Just saying, things like her families account are possible.

Without a doubt and without extending a defense to the guy in Dearborn, I had the experience of someone banging on my door at a weird hour before I moved. My dog went nuts, I didn't feel right, started thinking immediately of Half and Suzanna Zantop, and said I'd get my phone and call a tow for him. I went back to the bedroom, got my phone and my .38 -- he didn't see either of these things but when I came back to the door, I see the guy booking across my lawn.

I saw no disabled car.

This.

Read the article people. No where in it does it mention the girl was shot in the back of the head, it only says she was shot in the head.

It is mainly a fluff report since scant few info has been released.

Despite the lack of details I'm confident in saying that this specific situation deserves no place in a discussion about gun rights or the second amendment.

To the OP, it is already starting. Just saw this on my FB:

If someone knocks on your door, and when you open it they are walking away - why would you shoot them in the back of the head? Why not say something, call 911 - do anything? Just goes to show that guns kill people, and that morons carrying guns kill people. Who knew?

^this....

People bitch an moan relentlessly on NES about being sick and tired of this race BS an then drum up a thread title like this? Frankly, if someone I loved was shot by some idiot simply for ringing their doorbell, I'd join the angry mob. Of course there's no details, so who knows, but this thread is junk.

Shotgun to the head, damn, I can't imagine the mess that would make.

There must have been parts of her hanging everywhere.
