I want to purchase a Ruger P90 and was informed by my local FFL that is isn't legal in MA.

Is there a way to have it transferred to an FFL across the border in NY?

He's wrong. Find another shop.

And no, you can't do that in NY. Of all places you don't want to be in NY as an out of stater with a handgun.

ETA: The .45 is on the list here, not other calibers. Which one did you want? If other than .45, he may be right.

Now that I have done my homework...
Ruger sucks and why would you want a .45 when .40 S&W is so much better. [rofl2]

that's the list i was questioning him about...and he said that there are plenty of guns on that list that are banned on some Attorney Generals list....

So he is claiming the gun doesn't fit the AG's regs? That's odd. Ruger mostly makes stuff that meet her BS requirements. Their online spec sheet says it is MA OK (http://www.ruger.com/products/p90/specSheets/6602.html) as well. Call ruger and see what they say. They will know for sure.

Bottom line though, go elsewhere and ask another dealer. It may be a ride so call if you need to.
