Thank you permanent waves for posting this is in the bumpstock thread. we don't want to crap that thread up with things that detract from the major issues being discussed but I don't think this should be just pushed aside either. It is already being ignored by most media outlets.

Ha! Check out Fox 25 Investigates - Lawmakers that take the Per Diem for travel but don't go into the office...

You know if the statehouse were privately run they would have time clicks at every door and quarterly audits.

*edit... that was a stupid comment. They wouldnt have per diems in the first place

You're correct. No one cares.

If they can vote themselves an extravagant pay raise and no one gives a **** about that, then no one's going to care about this either.

It's Massachusetts. Better get used to it.

Correct. Since they make the laws and rules and exempt themselves from anything like "personal responsibility", all the public can do is bitch about it on social media but nothing will ever change in MA.

That's the Ma mentality that made me give up on Ma. and move to NH. [rolleyes]

[rofl]

It's the old story - if nobody watches, slowly everyone cheats the system.

I recall back 25 years ago when the various Commuter Rail stations set up the self-pay stations. Fold up a dollar and stick it in a slot.

Well, they stopped checking the empty slots to see if anyone was parked there for a time. This was at Canton Jct and Shaaaaaaaron. So more and more people stopped paying.

Is it stealing? Cheating? YES!

Did it stop them? NO!

What did? The day they all got tickets. Shockingly, the # of people who didn't pay went to almost zero overnight.

There needs to be some sort of watch-dog on our State Legicritters at all times. Otherwise, they think they are entitled and just pad the system. (As if this was something that's only been going on since 2014. It's been going on as long as they haven't had to answer to anyone. Perhaps since Adams' day???)
