Hey all,

I don't know how many of you made it to Pembroke today for the NRA Shooting Sports Camp & Family Open House. It was a great day for it. Tons of kids there having a good time, & getting to learn about & shoot different guns. My personal thanks to everyone working the event & making us guests feel welcomed. Nice place, & really nice people. If only I lived closer to Pembroke.

Pembroke is the next town over from Hanson - it's a great area to live (and have guns!). I didn't know they were doing that today over there, we went to our bee club picnic. It was a great day for anything outdoors!

Too bad this didn't get posted earlier so that some could have taken advantage of the opportunity.

When all was said and done, I understand we had about 60 kids and 30 adults come through and try everything we had to offer. The Trap field and Archery course stayed very busy right up to the end.
On my end of things; on the 200 yd. firing line and pulling targets in the pit, we stayed busy from the opening shot right up to 2 o'clock.
There was a line waiting to fire the M1s and ARs and it was good to see quite a few kids (and parents, too) eagerly charge right in and listen intently while recieving instruction, firing 3 or 4 rounds and watching thier target reappear w/ a spotting disc set in the black.
One gentleman confided he hadn't fired anything since his time in the service "many years ago" and then became quite amused after seeing a hit in the 10 ring..........."Oh yeah..........It's all coming back to me now."
Hopefully, our Junior Program will pick up a few more participants as we had 6 or 7 kids really demonstrate a knack for it along with a great bit of enthusiasm.
Yes, K-Dub.......too bad you don't live closer to Pembroke.

I didnt even here about it and I stopped by and shot the s**t the wed before with the guys in the skeet house. Lately there has been a lot to be said about the mailings that go out. I'm sure it was in the Message but I must have missed this month. Too bad I'm sure it was a good time.
