I am a newer 1911 owner and I was just wondering should I use oil to lube my 1911 or should i use grease.

I use oil for my 2 Glocks which wokrs great. I am not sure if it because they are Polymer frame and a 1911 is steel frame.

There are alot of 1911 owners on here and just asking some advice.

One of the biggest reasons for 1911 problems is too much lube so be careful with what you use.

That said, I use MD Labs XF7, locks and revolvers like it too as does my AR.

With the exception of the moving parts on my semi auto rifles... Every handgun I get is treated with MilTec1. That's it, that's all they get, and that's all they need to protect the metal, and provide ample lubrication for a 100% functioning gun.

I go the other way on this. mine loves to run wet, as long as its not spraying oil on my glasses

I'm a brand new 1911 owner and I've found that just a little bit of Break Free in the right places is all it needs.
