Oh, HELL yes!

A link and a photo - I'm going to need a little more context here. I'm assuming you've come completely out of the closet in favor of FDE?

Yes, I had a hard time admitting it. It just took the right one... While I still like wood and black guns, I'd be curious to get my hands on that.

It is a copy of the JAE. A really good copy and lighter because it is polymer vs the aluminum chassis of the JAE. Looks good.

I like the old school look on my M14s.

The Arcangel stock gets decent reviews from the M14 community for a cheaper alternative to the JAE.

What's .308, .50 cents a shot now? Have fun with that.

I might get another .308... but reloading will be mandatory. All the cheap ammo is gone.

Always loved the look of the Sage, but I live in a sh*thole of a state for the time being. [frown]

I've been looking into the Blackfeather stock as an alternative for awhile, just need to swap out one evil extra killy feature for another(and at 2.8lbs it's a bit fat guy friendlier [laugh] and not nearly as bulky as the Sage's 5.1lbs[yeah yeah I can see it already, "get to the gym ya fat f**k"] and roughly the same price depending where you get the Sage).

Serious question. About where is the break even point after investing in all the equipment?

Figure anywhere from 500-600 for reloading gear. cost of .308 around $0.50 cents per reload vs $1.00 per factory ammo and you're looking at 1000-1200 rounds before break even.

If you factor in other calibers than you're facing minimal additional gear costs (dies, shell plates, etc) so for another ~$75 you can start .223/9m/45acp/etc

Your margin on 9mm/.223 will be smaller however so the payoff takes longer. While you can save 50% off retail costs with .308 you probably only save 25-35% on 9mm/223.

Mk14 master race!

For that money, build a sage. Springfield's quality has been shit lately.

Did a little more messing around with mine this am. Added the 'dummy' selector and rod, the forward grip and sling and did some trigger work. Everything is open for change but for now, outside of a few NM type tweaks to the ferrule and clearancing the hand guard a bit it's good.
Sort of a 'retro-mod' I suppose... a little new, a little old...

the composite stocks look pretty, but I gotta admit the wood stock just looks so damn sexy I would have to go that route if I were in the market for an M1A.
