Octoberfest

First get together will be at this range since they are willing to accomodate us. Next range for the fall shoot, anyone can let us know of others that might be willing to have us,but we have to start early, like January so we can get things reserved in time.

That would be a good plan. Their willingness is a good thing. We shouldn't spoil that.

I've been PMing with Derek, we really need to find a range that has moderate distance capability (300 and up). I've definitely got the proper guns for it.

Are you supplying the "sighting-in dogs" for those of us who can't see that far? [lol]

There are a few places that can handle 300+ yds . . . but they are in MA and thus many NRs won't want to travel here, plus they have to worry about no-ban guns/mags equating to felony charges!

That's the problem, many of us are from MA and don't really know what's available outside our own sphere of knowledge. We need more NH/VT people who know what's available there and can make the range arrangements.

I just want to remind everyone that I need to call the restaurant Fri with our numbers for our Octoberfest.
So far I have....
LenS
Lynne
Ed
Ken
Derek
Nickle
Marlyn
Ross
Kathy
Adam
Glenn
Sue If we are not getting Alan that weekend.(Looks like a really good possibility.
Anyone else please let us know.

I'm sorry, but when it changed to a day trip, we decided that we're not going to able to make it. That's a long drive for a pregnant woman and a two year old.

I wish that we would be able to go...maybe if we do a dinner closer, or a sleepover some other time, we'll make it.

But to drive that far for dinner is just too much on them. :(

Okay last call on Octoberfest. I will call the restaurant later this afternoon after my Dr. appointment. Please sign up if you haven't. Thanks.

That's it?? C'mon folks! We got over 300 members (granted some of you aren't in the immediate area).

Sorry, I was hoping to make it. When it got finalized to the weekend of the 15th I was out, we had a previous commitment.

I hope to meet all of you one of these days.

With all the earlier flip-flop on site and location, I'd like to get a site (& at least approximate time) confirmation. My understanding is that it's the Tortilla Flat on DW Highway in Merrimack, starting sometime after breakfast.

Ken, right place, around noon, but from talking with Len there is also a gunshow up around there that same weekend. We can make it a little later if like 1:00pm instead if you guys want to do the show.

Gun Show & Get-Together Oct 15, 2005

DiPrete is running a gun show at Manchester, NH same day as our little get together. I understand it to be a 15 minute drive from the show to Tortilla Flat.

Thus I propose that we meet at Tortilla Flat, 595 Daniel Webster Hwy (aka DW Hwy), Merrimack, NH 03054, 603-424-4479 at 1PM on Saturday, October 15th. This will give those interested, enough time to take in the gun show as well . . . kinda a "two fer". [wink]

Thanks, Len.

Anytime Sue! :)

I'm hoping that the combo of a gun show and the greet and meet might scare up more than the "dirty dozen" we have up to now! [wink]

A DiPrete show, hmm, well, I've got mixed emotions about DiPrete. Sometimes you see a bunch of bargains, sometimes not.

Still worth going, especially for any reloaders, IF the guy that sells reloading components at DiPrete's Rutland, VT show is there. There'll also be some bargains on ammo, but my father won't do a NH show. Too far to travel.

I'll be making that one, though, be on the lookout for a Dead Horse MC or North East Shooters shirt/sweat shirt.

Last call, for the Meet and greet. If you decide at the last minute please come the more the merrier. Looks like right now it's 12 of us.

To add . . .

We're getting together at 1PM at Tortilla Flat, Merrimack, NH.

Some of us are going to head up to the DiPrete show in Manchester (15 min up the road) in the morning before the meet, greet & eat.

Okay, called the restaurant again...we are confirmed for 1:00pm stragglers are welcome, but the only hitch is seperate checks. It may be by groups of 4,they were going to talk to the diningroom people and see what they could do. I told them it would only be 6 or 7 checks. I guess we'll see what happens. I was told the checks are very detailed.

I've already told Sue, but, it's with a heavy heart that Ed and I won't be able to make it to the dindin. Duty calls for me - I got a phone call from a woman who was raped and she wants her license. The only time I have to teach her is (if we don't go) this Saturday. Sorry guys, but there are some things that take priority, and, since most of you know my history, this is one of them.

I'll be with y'all in spirit tho, so everyone raise one for me, k?

Well Lynne,
Priorities are priorities, and I say you have made the only logical choice. Good on you!

Next time!

You're still not off the hook going shooting with me, though. How's Friday?
