Octoberfest

Okay, the club that we were trying to use for the 15th of October, has another event going on. This late in the game trying to get something scheduled isn't going to work. What we figured for this year is do a Meet and Greet. We'll all get together at Tortilla Flat around noon have lunch and socialize for awhile.
Next year we'll be trying to get something arranged early enough and maybe get 2 get togethers for shooting arranged.
Now I also need to get a head count together for the restaurant of who is definately coming. Depending on how many of us there are is to how many extra's they have to bring in to work. If I can get this nailed down the sooner the better would be greatly appreciated.

Look on the bright side: somebody might try to rob the place while we're eating there. It would either be something straight out of Comedy Central, unless we all were to behave rationally and do nothing, assuming they just wanted the restaurant's money.

Yea, I was talking to my wife last night. We think that it's just too much to put our two year old in a car for two hours. Then eat and put her back in the car for another two...

She'd be a nightmare. And I don't feel like spending the whole time running around a resturant chasing a irritable two year old instead of talking to you guys.

I'm really sorry, but I just don't think that we're going to be able to go.

Okay, I didn't specify the Date will still be the 15th of October at Tortilla Flat. Noon til when ever. Meal will be what ever you order off the menu. Drinks are up to you and on you. That is what is worked out with the restaurant. I will give this until the end of next week and take a count and call the restaurant back with the number that has said they are coming. They just need to plan the help accordingly.

We're all paying our own way on the food too, right? (you only mentioned drinks)

Unless there's a really hefty margin built into them T-shirts, I don't think that Derek can afford to treat us! [lol]

That's what I'm making sure everyone understands. I'm covering my commanding officers back side here. (Yes, D, I know you're not an officer, but you are the boss on this here site. :D )

I know I figured I'd beat him to the punch. [lol] [twisted] I'm sure he won't disappoint me he'll come up with something back. [twisted]

Yes, everyone pays their own personal tab, including tax (yes NH has HIGH meals tax) and tip (calculated usually at 20% by restaurants for large groups - not optional).

This avoids serious problems where some leave early and forgot to pay at all or left a lot less than they ate/drank (saw this for a friend's going away party at Stone&Webster, it was ugly 4 or 5 of us got stiffed for ~$75 in unpaid lunch tabs).

Sue, if you arrange a "pay as you go" deal with the restaurant for drinks, this avoids a lot of potential problems. Or individual bills so that folks can pay by charge card or cash as they desire. See what the restaurant has to say on that . . . usually they are happy to do the former and only sometimes willing to do the latter.

Yes, Nickle I talked with Tortilla Flat Sunday. Ross hubby will pay for my weasel biscuits. I knew I left part of that out.
Nickle there is always spring time to try out the sniper rifle...... [twisted]

Not a problem. I had just heard this weekend that our Tortilla Flat closed. I figured it would be wise to make sure. Especially after the range situation.

Looks like "no Corona" for Ross.

And, when we get together next year, you can shoot the Sniper Rifle. I will warn you, it has a fair amount of recoil, about the same as an M1 or M14.

Recoil doesn't bother me. [lol]

Good, you're welcome to try them all, if you like.

We got Alicia shooting the M14 the first day she fired a gun, and she LIKED the M14 actually. Ross, Tank and Mrs Tank know her.

I've been PMing with Derek, we really need to find a range that has moderate distance capability (300 and up). I've definitely got the proper guns for it.
