Obama Assault Weapon Ban

At the end of the day, we are in a losing battle. Firearm ownership will basically be illegal within 2 or 3 decades. I just hope we get at LEAST 2 or 3 more decades! We are in a losing battle simply because of demographics and urbanization. The fastest growing segments of our society are urban, often minorities, that have little desire, use, or understanding of firearms. Urbanization is in large part why the European nations became so vehemently anti gun.

There is no sporting application in a city and police have no respect for self defense whatsoever. Our cities in the United States, even in "pro gun" states are a forecast of what an anti gun America. Despite the 2nd Amendment you cannot carry (unless you're VERY well connected) in NYC, Chicago...heck even in ANCHORAGE ALASKA the police will give you a hard time about OC...

^That is the realism, herein lies the optimistic side of me. TAKE YOUR KIDS, NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS, EVERYONE for a FUN, SAFE day at the range, and secondly vote and think the issues through.

not true.

Gary Johnson for Liberty.

Here's the painful truth for Johnson and Paul fans. They don't have the money or infrastructure to win. Nor do they have a message that resonates with many people. Now, most Johnson and Paul fans will cry foul and point to the media for ignoring them; however, that doesn't explain why they couldn't get traction in the GOP primary. Remember, they were appealing to voters who were more, not less, inclined to accept their message in the primaries. So, given they couldn't generate votes in the primaries, how was that message going to be received by a general electorate that is less conservative? Additionally, most GOP voters are already well aware of media bias so I just don't buy the "media sank us" meme.

So, where does this leave Johnson and Paul? Well, perhaps, just perhaps, they need to focus on crafting a more resonate message and creating a party infrastructure that can run and support viable candidates. In the meantime, I'm not helping Ron Johnson reelect Obama, like Tim Cahill did for Deval Patrick. Yes, reality sucks, but that's the only outcome his candidacy can produce.

On the whole Obama versus Romney being better for 2A rights: It is amazing that people still want to claim that Romney is worse on guns after Obama explicitly says he wants an assault weapons law that specifically includes handguns. Not much you can do for folks who willfully refuse to accept reality.

I'm going to vote for Mitt Romney because I think people who are deemed to be dangerous should be locked up indefinitely even if there are no charges pressed. I also believe that there is nothing wrong with wiretaps without warrants.

it keeps up safe.

messages like "I'll give you free shit" are what gets you 50%+ of the vote. That's the problem.

Exactly. Liberalism/Socialism taps into the core flaws of humanity, exploits it, cultivates it, and rewards it.
