Will somebody please explain to me why I bother to drag my ass out of bed and go to work?

If what this guy says is true then the govt. could just send me a check every week, I could quit my job, stay home, cruise porn on the internet, participate in group buys on NES, drive my car around aimlessly every day (buy gas - it boosts the economy), buy crap at Walmart - and I would be doing my part to help the economy.

It would sure beat the hell out of working every day.
Millions are doing that now. Jack.

OK, I'm going to out myself as as a sheep (I guess). First, the quotes by the admistration spokesperson moron is a mess. But....

I was laid off in Jan. 2009. I looked for work for over a year. I was either over or under qualified for everything I applied for. If a company wanted someone with 5 years and 10 days experience then they could find it. The market was that bad.
Second or third shift is what I ended up looking for because how could I look/interview for a fulltime position if I was working during the day? I couldn't get a 3rd shift security job... How hard is that, considering I did it when I was in school? The best I could come up with was a part-time second shift job changing tires at Sears. So all of this time I was collecting unemployment. And yes, that money went back into the economy (gas, taxes, food, mortgage, etc). Would it be better if my house was forclosed on? You decide. My wife covered as much as she could, including health insurance, but her salary only covered so much.
So finally in April of '10 I found a position out here in the sh*thole they call Reno. I've been out here for... 16 months? And have seen my wife 3 times. I want desperately to get back home but it's not exactly easy to interview, and the market hasn't picked up to the point where I feel comfortable giving up a fulltime position for a 1 month contract.

So I guess to most of you I'm a leach. So be it.

umm no, its the ones that make collecting a lifestyle or a career choice that I call leaches. I've got neighbors that haven't worked a day in years. Now those are leaches. I almost wish the economy would tank just to watch the fools suffer with no money.

Bought a grill LOL. However comparing Bushie and the O and the damage they caused is like comparing the leak in your kitchen sink to katrina.
How did you know my sink was leaking?[tinfoil]

If unemployment is so great why don't we put 10 or 12 million .gov employees on it?
Aren't they already getting paid to not work?

To me, it sounds like a similar sort of flawed reasoning that could lead someone to try to design a perpetual motion machine.
We already have one… It's called an Obama…

Many years ago I used to sell cars. People would come in and want to buy a car for hundreds or thousands below invoice. To me, that made no sense, because it's PROFIT that keeps the doors open and me employed. To Obama it would make PERFECT sense, because there would be money changing handsom, and that would de facto stimulate the economy. Forget the fact that we the dealer still owed the .mfg the balance… Now, substitute "people" for "dealer" and ".gov" for ".mfg" and you see the problem. So I suggested to people that I could lose the same amount of money more easily and make more friends by just standing on the corner and handing out $20 bills… Or I could mail out random $600 checks...
