NRA Gun of the Week: Colt Python Revolver

Pythons are very nice. Curious as to why the comparisons, on this thread, to the Smith 29. When I think of Smith's answer to the Python, I think pre-lock 586.

I think I started it unintentionally! I was in the market for a Smith 29 in blue, and then saw this post about the Python and thought it was a beauty. The conversation took off from there :)

I don't have a 586 to compare, but I do have a blued 29 circa 70's. Very early 29's were supposed to be custom shop quality (mine was not made in that era). The 29's trigger is very smooth indeed. The Python is just smoother.
