Im good. I stopped giving them money when i realized that most of their resources go to funding call centers and paying their bigwigs stupid amounts of money. They have compromised going back all the way to the passage of the nfa. screw em. Theyre just another bloated corporation and ave never looked out for or taken a hardline stance to protect our rights. They care only for pandering and platitudes so we give them more money. The NRA does the same shit to us that the democratic party does to the black population. Yet here all you guys sit, hoodwinked into throwing more money at them...
Everyone on this site wants a pay raise every year, but expects corporations to operate on the same level of income every year.
Costs increase, the cost of people increase.

Depends on how they recognize revenue. They might take that number, divide it by the yearly membership cost and recognize the revenue over a number of years. This would allow them to do a better job at forecasting revenue for the next few years and will allow them to spend money in a better way, while working on options to get more money.
But, there isnt a scenario where every single member will become a life member.

Not to mention, even if everyone buys the discounted $600 life membership tomorrow, that's 20 years of their $30 annual membership in today's dollars. That's a sizable warchest. I would love to have that much runway on my expenses.
Some will call that all they need to spend; in exchange, the NRA gets to claim them within their numbers forever. That is, the NRA would never be smaller with respect to lobbying power. Further, they get to claim that there are that many people who were willing to lay out 20 years of membership fees at once, reinforcing the argument that the gun-owning population is growing, and agrees with them. Sounds like a pretty big win for the org.
Meanwhile, if we keep creating new shooters, the population will actually continue to grow. These new shooters could be convinced to join a successful NRA, and buy memberships throughout their shooting lives. As long as the NRA doesn't alienate all of them, these deals to push for increased membership will never cause the org to collapse. If I were a betting man, I'd say it's the opposite - they are having trouble with retention, so they have a sale for a while, then threaten an increase in pricing to boost numbers. Rinse and repeat.
Look up the membership office phone number (it's probably on your card), call them with your NRA member number handy and ask them to take you off their telemarketing list. They are very good about doing so, within a week or two the calls will completely stop. I did this and have received only one call in the last several years.
They seem to have a lot of flexibility in how they slice it. If you don't want postal mail, tell them that and those will also stop.

I agree. People will spend $800 on a new iPhone every two years but when you ask them to pony up to protect the 2nd ammendment all of a sudden they're laid off or have other priorities.
And they will gripe about belonging to the number one gun rights organization but happily feed Zuckerberg with their Facebook infatuation.
Knock off the anti-social media, buy a used phone and put your money where it actually helps.
Or just keep posting pics of your sandwich and tell us all how you hit the gym today while the left reaps all the advertising revenue from your stupid myspacebook-instac*** account.
Thank you! Priorities are screwed up all over. I was lucky and from the time I arrived here I was doing extremely well. I can't think about anything I would need. But even when I was a "struggling immigrant" I stayed away from the money wasting activities and I was donating to organizations which are against communism and socialism. NRA is among them. Those who complain about NRA being a huge organization do not understand what is against them. America is the last place on Earth where you can still have freedom. All global organizations are against us and we are not going to win by paying few bucks for the membership. I am also a GOAL member, but GOAL is 5 people and they can do what they can do, NRA has it's place. NRA never bother me with mailings or calls. And if they would bother me I would take that over Killary's goons knocking on my doors. You need to realize that organizations like NRA are illegal or non-existent in many countries.
