Pretty sure this is a requirement from the postal service so they can be automatically sorted and such.

Also, for postal workers manually sorting the mail, most are right-handed, and it's easier to grab a magazine from the spine side. This would put the label upside-down and easier for humans to read, too.

To put it right-side up, you'd have to put it on the back cover.

I wonder if this is the case but my labels not usually upside down. I know it’s a stupid thing to post about. But I just thought it was funny

Seriously???? The label is upside down??? WTF, is that a secret "Go Time" signal?
It's a secret message from someone in Circulation and Printing.

Lol. I just checked: the one I got the other day is, indeed, upside-down.

Go time?

When I moved our HP PSC 1410 printer
from our XP Media Center to our Windows 10 Desktop,
it started printing everything rotated 180°.

Obviously some low-level setting for that.

But I never remember changing something like that on XP.

Did the Brain Trust at HP or Microsoft change the default in the intervening decade?

It might have always been that way; I have no idea.

I've never noticed it before, either way, until I came across this thread.
