Another tragedy that will be fodder for the antis

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29944382/?gt1=43001

From CNN a new meaning to March Madness

"Sunday's killings were the latest in a series of high-profile but unrelated rampages in March, including the killings of 10 people by an Alabama man who was then killed by police. At a southern Illinois church, a man shot and killed the pastor and stabbed two parishioners, and a 17-year-old in Germany killed 15 people in two small towns before dying in a shootout with police."

Seriously -- crazy people -- STOP using guns to deliver the message. We get it, you're nuts. Use a brick or a toaster or something. You make it very difficult for us law abiding, sane gun owners to make rational, emotionless arguments for our rights.

The conspiracy theorist inside me thinks these are just false-flag operations being executed by our tyrannical government in order to bolster public support for the confiscation of all privately owned firearms.

Wow, I was just thinking the same thing.
Notice how many of these incidents have taken place since the election?

More news anti truth but "hype"! I have to beleive that these were not the only eight people that died by some means (other than) a lunatic with a gun that day in the US.

Sad all the same but nothing more than we should be used to when we are turning toward socialism. We need villians!

Well Barak Hussein Messiah Obama-Wan-Kenobi didn't instantly fix everything the way delusional people thought he could, the economy is still in the toilet, jobs are vanishing faster than beers at a college keg party, houses are still being foreclosed on left and right, and it's tax time.

Is anyone really surprised people are robbing banks and going on killing sprees?

False flag. What does that mean?

Like the Reichstag fire, the Gulf of Tonken incident, etc.

Precisely. But I'm a sucker for conspiracy theories. But maybe there's a dimension of reality at work here. This has got to be the third or fourth mass shooting since King Obama's Ascension.

Not very surprising at all. And as others have said, the conspiracy theorist in me is feeling quite alert these days.

From the article:

"Krueger said the victims were Pinelake residents Tessie Garner, 88; Lillian Dunn, 89; Jessie Musser, 88; Bessie Hendrick, 78; John Goldston, 78; Margaret Johnson, 89; Louise Decker, 98; and nurse Jerry Avent, whose age wasn't immediately available."

88, 89, 88, 78, 78, 89 and 98..... what a crappy way to go after living such a long life... to live nearly a hundred years, only to be pointlessly gunned down by some lunatic without even a clear motive. Makes me sick. [sad2]

Maybe there is some left-wing conspiricy going on here.
It could be part of Obamas plans to balance the budget by reducing the number people on social security and medicare. ?

I think that the media is trying to get guns banned. Obama has the media in his back pocket and they would follow orders from him. They let the stories where other objects are used slide and pick up shootings no matter how small. Then the other element that has always been in our media is sensationalism. The media hides the real news from us because if the sheep saw how hard we were getting screwed they would go insane. I do not trust the media in any way shape or form, by the time our news gets to us it is so warped and censored by the FCC that it is just a Shadow of the Truth.

deaths

what it is is normal, what has not been normal is the publication.before tv,this happened but usually in rural areas, and few heard about it.remember reading of the crime sprees of dillinger bonny and clyd and ma barker.and these are world wide and always have been. you should read the papers here.look up "the item"sc.at least one killing a week.

Don't make me laugh at such a tragic thing! .....still, you could be on to something.... this could be the 2009 version of Swift's "A Modest Proposal"!

I was thinking the right words wispered into an already twisted mind kinda thing. God knows how many twisted, receptive minds are out there. And just how many people would do the wispering?[frown] Psy-ops? (excuse me while I adjust my alcoa hat)

False flag. What does that mean?

Meaning, a crisis generated to garner support for some government agenda, however, the crisis is usually a "false" one.

Example: In the game Deus Ex, the government blows the head off of the statue of liberty and blames the attack on secessionist/terrorist groups so they can justify additional actions against these groups, up to and including curtailment of civil liberties and expansion of government police power.

Another example would be in a case where a country has an enemy, it may attack itself and then blame the attack on the enemy, to garner public
support for an invasion or war against that enemy.

The 9/11 truther tinfoilers go around parading that the airplane hijackings and dropping the towers was essentially a huge false flag op by the US to justify invading various countries in the mideast. It's obviously implausible, though... hell, the CIA can't even keep extraordinary rendition a secret, so how the hell are they going to run a false flag op of that magnitude? [laugh]

Nursing home gunman 'had cancer'
(Gerry Broome/AP)
The gunman's weapon is removed from the nursing home in Carthage, North Carolina

A gunman who shot dead eight people at a North Carolina nursing home had told family members he had been diagnosed with cancer, according to his ex-wife.

Robert Stewart, 45, walked into the Pinelake Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Carthage and opened fire at 10 am on Sunday, killing seven residents and a nurse, and injuring several others including a police officer before he was himself shot and injured.

Authorities would not comment on the motivation for the latest massacre to scar American society, where firearms-related deaths total about 30,000 each year.

But Stewart's ex-wife Sue Griffin said he had recently told relatives he had cancer, was preparing for a long trip and said he was going to "go away" .

Tightening gun controls is pointless
Ms Griffin, who was married to Stewart for 15 years before they divorced in 2001, said he had been violent during their marriage.

"He did have some violent tendencies from time to time," she said. "I wouldn't put it (the shooting) past him. I hate to say it, but it is true."

Although the couple had not spoken since their divorce, the week before the shooting Stewart made a number of efforts to contact her through family members, she said.

The nursing home, about 60 miles southwest of Raleigh, has 90 beds. It was recently awarded a five-star rating for the care it offers to people with Alzheimer’s disease.

Police said Stewart did not work at the home and was not believed to be related to any of the victims.

One of the residents called her daughter after the gunman stormed into her room and screamed "They're up here shooting, they're up here shooting."

Ellery Chishole told her daughter Beverly McNeill she hid her face in her shirt so she couldn't see Stewart after he had pointed his 'deer gun' at her room mate. He left the room without hurting the women, and began shooting down the hallway.

The shooting will inevitably be seized upon by proponents of greater gun control who have already highlighted a spate of recent attacks.

Earlier this month Michael McLendon, 28, shot dead his mother, his grandmother, an uncle, a nephew and a cousin in a rampage that ended ten lives before he killed himself when cornered by police.

In Covina, California, last Christmas, nine people were killed when Bruce Pardo attacked a family party dressed in a Santa Claus suit. Among those dead were his ex-wife and former in-laws.

Every year, more than 30,000 Americans die by gunshot, most of them suicides but including at least 10,000 murders. This is twice the number of 4,260 US soldiers killed in six years of the Iraq war.

Britain – which has some of the tightest firearms laws in the world – had just 50 deaths through gun crime in 2005-06, the last year for which figures are available.

Supporters of the so-called "Second Amendment" right to bear arms have said incidents such as the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre when Cho Seung Hui killed 32 people would have been prevented if students had been carrying their own weapons.

President Obama, wary of taking on powerful vested interests such as the National Rifle Association, has said that he opposes a crackdown on gun ownership. Asked whether he was concerned that 90 per cent of the weapons used in Mexico's drugs war were smuggled in from the US, he told CBS's Face the Nation programme: “I think the main thing we need is better enforcement".

Although both Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Attorney General Eric Holder have recently suggested that they are interested in reintroducing a ban on assault weapons that the Bush Administration allowed to expire, dozens of Democratic Congressmen have pledged to oppose any such legislation.

Too bad none of the employees or visitors at the nursing home weren't able to stop him before the police could respond. I wonder how many could've been saved.

"Not again" said the bowl of petunias as it fell to earth to face it's demise wondering why it always had to be petunias.
