Not a single handgun put up for sale today

The new classifieds are terrible, I used to use the old classifieds VERY successfully both buying and selling. Now it is such a hassle to look through that I haven't bought anything listed there since they started and I haven't had any success selling anything there. The only responses i get are from my postings in the members section.

I hope this is taken as constructive criticism by the powers that be, but I completely agree with you. The format is really not good and having it separated from the regular forum just doesn't work well.

I also find it more difficult to browse the new classifieds than the old one which was just a forum group. It's just slower moving from item to item.

This^^^ Can the classifieds be tweaked somehow to make them more user friendly?

AR15.com tried a format very similar to our new one for about a year and a half with disastrous effects. They wasted a lot of money and manpower building the system only to have it largely rejected by the users over there. After struggling with it for 1 1/2 years, they finally gave in and eliminated it, and went back to the old "thread style" listings, however lost alot of sponsors during that time due to decreased traffic.

I kind of like the new classified, quick to search for the new items and I can look by state, plus you can still get them in the thread style through the RSS feeds

Yup.

I just browse the rs feed. I liked the old classifieds better, but I've sold my 4 gun limit without much trouble using the new classifieds. You can bump the rs feed to the front, just don't abuse it. Maybe every week like before. Price talks, if you offer a good deal it will sell. It helps if you take the time to write up a good add, especially put your location (town) in the body of the add. Avoids all the "where are you pm's".

Agree completely. Echo the hope that it's taken as constructive criticism by the management.

Same here. One of my biggest complaints is the seller use to put where they were located instead of just what state. Now I end up having to send a PM to find out if they're located close enough to me. Sometimes I just don't even bother.

Do you guys that don't like the new classifieds still run Windows 3.1? as for the location that sounds like the sellers should step up and put it in their ad. the thing that frost my cookies is when they put $0.00 in the header but list a far different price in the ad.

No, they're not... in NJ you have to go begging to the cops every time you want to buy a handgun. **** that crap.

Get your facts straight before you post incorrect info. Yes. FTF"S are legal if purchaser has a permit. Plus I can do as many as I want. And I don't go begging for permits nor do I have to purchase health insurance if I don't want to.

We get it. Jersey is better than MA. The Jets are also awesome. Enough already.

Seriously, it's like arguing if it's better to get pushed off a cliff or off a bridge. Both suck in slightly different but utterly meaningless ways.
