I'm new to reloading and was wondering what works well for .308 winchester. I made my first loads just the other night and am waiting for the weather to break to try them out. I used 41.5 grains IMR 4064, with hornady 168gr A max bullets, CCI primers, I will be shooting them from a remington 700 with a 24 inch barrel. Any help or pointers would be great, thanks.

Seat the bullet so it is relatively close to the lands. .020 of an inch would be about right. 4064 is one of the best powders for .308 imo.
