I had a revelation.
The first five shots were mediocre. I learned the crush grip at MAG 40 in August, and that tends to cause shaking. After the five shots, I remembered that the crush grip was supposed to be paired with the wedge hold, so I put the middle finger of my dominant hand right up against the bottom of the trigger guard. I then tried to push the index finger of my supporting hand between the middle and the trigger guard, essentially wedging up the muzzle. The shaking stopped dead. The technique was outstanding. The rest of the shots were mostly in the black and 9 rings.
At Mag 40, Mas and Russ shot nearly perfect scores on his qual. Gives me something to strive for.
