Can anyone tell me where I can find a pay to shoot gun range in Central MA? Im looking to join one of the local clubs in my area, but in the mean time I kind of just wanna go and shoot. Thanks

By Central, I was looking to keep it a bit closer to the Worcester area. If all else fails, I suppose I could make the trip.

There's Original Bob's in Salisbury MA its far but it's cheap and public.

That's were I first shot as a kid and did so until I became a member somewhere a few years ago.

Smith & Wesson in Springfield is it.

The only three in MA that I'm aware of are the aforementioned S&W, Bob's Tactical in Salisbury, and American Firearms School in North Attleboro. S&W is probably the closest of the three to you.

There isn't one.

Your choices are:

S&W, Bobs Tactical (Salisbury), MFL (Manchester NH) or AFS in Attleboro.

For Central MA MFL is probably going to be the closest- although if you really are in Worcester, S&W will probably be closer, as all you have to do is
get on the Pike.... probably be under an hour to get there.

I'll also note that if you want to shoot rifles or REALLY powerful handguns indoors, MFL is pretty much it. (S&W is limited to handguns) Their backstop handles pretty much anything, Shotguns are banned from the main ranges though, although I think they will let you shoot them at the old range (if its open, and on the weekends it usually is, but call ahead first to verify. )

SW is a hell of a lot closer to Worcester than Manchester Firing Line is!

I'm in Worcester, I usually go to afs in n. Attleboro, no caliber restrictions on the main range except for 12ga, only slug. To get there I usually take 146 to 295 to 95, takes about 40 minutes

Personally, I avoid public gun ranges. Among other things they attract some people who are otherwise prohibited from legally using firearms. For example, I had a co-worker a few years back. He was a foreign national and his stated objective was to "peacefully" replace the government of the U.S. with an Islamic Republic. He spent a lot of time at the Manchester Firing Line. I have heard, but I'm not sure it's true, the MFL has had a fair number of suicides, too.

But, to be fair, I've never been to any of these places, so I can't really offer any first hand experience.
