No Sales Tax on Gun Safes

CT law exempts gun safes from sales tax, but apparently WalMart didn't get the message.

Since 1999, shoppers in Connecticut have not had to pay the state’s 6.35% sales tax on gun safes and other firearms-safety items, but someone forgot to tell the Walmarts of Connecticut, which have been improperly charging the tax to customers.

No surprise. WM does what WM wants to do. They charged me MA Sales Tax on a US Flag. Even when I Emailed WM Legal Dept with the Email from DOR saying that it was tax exempt (and that it was "tax fraud" to charge sales tax, the Email suggested that I file a formal complaint with DOR for them to investigate), the WM lawyers stood their ground that it should be taxable. That's a pretty high level of arrogance!

Never bought another <Chinese> American Flag there and never will!
