Okay, admissions first;

1. for years I carefully avoided the Nighthawk pistols despite my overwhelming love of the 1911
2. never even handled one for fear of what it may lead to....
3. convinced myself they must be overrated....

THEN THE WORM TURNED...

1. in the last two weeks 2 are now in my hands with a third in the works
2. find myself contemplating selling off other firearms to make a "subtle dent" in future NIGHTHAWK additions
3. i have never sold a gun to date....

So I throw myself at the mercy of the "community"; have I indeed gone FULL RETARD or is it just my imagination f***ing with me?

Thank you in advance

no man its not like that! (or I didn't intend it) - i worked like a field hand for the $, went without for a lifetime of many things....except those I wanted

i put my pants on the same as all else, one leg at a time....

No worries. It’s an NES inside joke whenever someone gets something super nice. Like what you've just done. In a way it’s a convoluted compliment!

i get it, re flex/poors

been in the weeds on this forum since 2011ish, joined in 16'

just don't do social media out of principle- this is my only foray into the medium

wealth of info, no Q

thank you

we're here because it's an anti-social media.
right, hence limited but reluctant posting history

i'll be the first to admit i know less than many on this forum about firearms but am a junkie for reading it and keeping up on the info/ cause

as the old saying goes "balls are there to be busted" lol

i like the crowd, difference of opinions, ect and lets face it the neckbeards are easily identified!

I'm with you. Took me 10yrs to buy one and I still haven't even shot it. Got the call for another, but my house needing $5k in electrical work this week really gave my wallet a soft-off (opposite of hard on). There's something about a Nighthawk that just provides a feeling like no other pistol (imo). The fact that the one I have is a 1 of 1 per Nighthawk makes me even more reluctant to shoot it. f***kkkk

Great guns! But damn they have become quite proud of themselves. 25% price increase across the board Sept 2023 and still going up. Had one member on another forum (who owns 300 1911's BTW) stop dealing with them because they would not fix an issue he had with an order that he waited 9 months for. Talk about dumb business practices.

And I was there when you got your Nighthawk! Standing right beside you when he handed it to you at the Mill.
It is a beautiful gun.

BUT... shoot the damn thing! Shoot the f***in barrel out of it! Shoot it until the springs wear out!

Not shooting that gun is like waking up with Alica Schmidt naked in your bed and then going to jerk off in the bathroom. Hell no.
You knock the ass outta that until she can't run her next race! LOL.

Taking a Glock to the range and leaving the Nighthawk at home is like banging Rosie O'Donnell while Alica Schmidt watches.
[laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

I apologize for the graphic analogies. Just my take on it.

Why the f*** would you buy an nh and not shoot it?

Wat. Da. Fuq.

That's the whole point. These are high quality working guns meant to have the tar shot out of them.

Inflation bullshit hits high end handguns harder. Those guns are hand built, you have to pay skilled people enough to stay to build them. Raw material costs, etc, keep going up. This isn't like a Glock or some other polymer framed handgun where the BOM on the whole thing is probably $75 before labor, and you're selling thousands of the things.

@VTski4x4 the other way I look at it... the whole reason you buy an NH, DW, ed brown, etc is because you can shoot the piss out of these kinds of 1911s and they don't wear quickly. It'd be difficult to discern 2000 rounds from 50k on one of those guns outside of maybe holster wear. Shooting it? It's not going to care. 🤣

yeah shoot that f***er man!

This is the same guy who announced he bought $10k of ammo in the TSUSA thread iirc. Same type of post. "Hey guys look what I did, am I crazy?!"
your point being? yeah i am a crazy sonofabitch under all circumstances

i don't post and get flack, i do post and get flack

was pumped and felt like sharing, maybe that was my mistake...sorry to any i may have offended

(is why i hate social media just too many keyboard commandos who would never act the part in person)

edit- i f***ed up the cart and it was only 8700; typical shit .308, 5.56, 9 & .45

Back when I competed with a 1911, my competition gun was a Wilson Combat. I put thousands of rounds through that gun.
