Nick's Montana gun shops picture thread

None of the local dealers can keep them in stock. Several times when I've been out & about in gunshops down here I've seen a lot of honest regular people who just want something simple for home defense or the car buying them.

Massachusetts: legislating the poor out of self defense since 10-21-1998.

I agree with the sentiment that people should be able to buy any gun they want, but frankly, a Hi Point is not the way to do it. I'd rather see poor folks buying used Rugers, S+W's, charter arms, etc.... even Tauruses. The only thing junkers have going for them is the price and that "one gun is better than none". After that it's all downhill from there. Those guns were invented because of what PT barnum said, more than anything else. The sad part is they make the chinese air conditioners at wal mart look good. Speaking of which, the biggest barrier to serviceable, affordable firearms is the stupid protectionist US import regs. The two or three companies making junkers would be out of business if reasonable imports were allowed. Ok, I'm done ranting. [grin]

10 out of the 26 shops on my list where hits, the rest were misses. I have pics for 7 of them that I'll process and get up later with some write-ups. 3 of the shops were closed today and I'm going to try and get out there tomorrow to make my quest complete.

One PSA I just have to say. Always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS keep a paper and electronic copy of your dealer's FFL on you when you travel. You never know when you will come across a gem you want to send or take home with you and having that on hand makes it soooo much easier. Also, be weary of looking up gun stores online because people who do gun smithing or FFLs out of their homes like to list their "companies" online.

You're right. In an interview with the founder of Jennings, he said that he got into the business to fill that void in the market, which was created by GCA 68 IIRC.

If you ever go to Jackson Hole Wyoming, check out the Stone Drug Store - they sell guns & fishing gear & model airplanes! A nice displayed Winchester collection too!

It is a culture shock to go from the Sheeple's Democrat Socialist Republic to free State and see what citizens are able to buy as opposed to what the subjects of Mass are allowed.
The 20+ years I was there were tempered by my regular trips home to PA where I sometimes aquired new items.
Moving here to West "By God!" Virginia was been so liberating! NO need to look at some government approved list of allowed weapons before you go shopping. I'm about over my five month buying binge.
Virginia is only 12 miles down I81 and they have even better prices on ammo and supplies.
Now I'm waiting on my tax stamp for a suppressor to fit my XDm 3.8. Two local shops handle suppressors as regular items and stock them in display cases along side the handguns.
I'll try to get some pictures to post.
Mass is a lost cause. The majority LIKE their system just liek the millions in the former East German who march for the return of Communist rule.
Get out now, it's your last chance to see America before it's gone forever.
