Report: NH lacking in gun background checks

WASHINGTON -- The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence says New Hampshire hasn't made progress in improving gun background checks since a bill was enacted last year to improve state submission of records about dangerous cases.

The campaign is named after former White House Press Secretary James Brady, who was permanently disabled in 1981 by a gunshot wound during an assassination attempt on President Reagan.

According to federal government sources, the campaign says New Hampshire has only submitted 80 percent of appropriate records of people convicted of felonies.

Idiots. [rolleyes]

of course the morons dont take the time to see that NH has one of the lowest crime rates compared to MA and other anti states. If it aint broken, dont fix it.

Of course putting 2 and 2 together must be quite a stretch for those tards.

idiots...

Is this about guns?

The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has an annual income of $4,657,766, a board of 21 directors, and a paid staff of 30 full time employees. Part of their mission is to "to enact and enforce sensible gunlaws". I guess low crime rates do not correlate with sensible gun laws.

This is the same ole "I'm smarter then you because I can make a living telling you what I think you should be doing"

Motion carried: idiots [wink]

If you compare Brady's scorecard with their "Crime Map" they consistently praise the most crime-ridden states for being bastions of safety.

If you show the two pieces of info to a complete laymen that individual would most likely be convinced the Brady Campaign was in place to eradicate humanity the way they reward criminal use of firearms with passing grades.

The list is not entirely useless though. When I decided to flee CT the first thing I did was print that list and tell my woman friend anything scoring higher than than 15 was a definite no go.

So here I am in New Hampshire. A dangerously lax 11 out of 100. Everyday is a struggle to not get shot to death by some gun-toting redneck. [smile]

Even 1 death by gun is too many!

[rolleyes]
I've got news for the Bradys & their ilk. You can't legislate death out of existence.

Why not go work on states ilke DC, IL, MA, NY, CA which actually have a large percentage of crime?

The Brady Campaign is not interested in stopping crime.

They're anti-civil rights zealots who want to control other people's lives and restrict our Constitutional rights.

f*** them.

If the Brady Campaign doesn't like the way NH is doing something, then NH must be doing it right.

+1 to that!

Because that's not their agenda.

Their name might be "Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence" but it's really "Brady Campaign to Confiscate Privately Owned Guns from Peaceable, Responsible Citizens".

As mentioned previously, DC, IL, MA, NY, CA, NJ, etc. have the most strict gun laws in the country.

They're not interested in preventing gun violence. In fact, they want to exacerbate it.

They also ignore the fact that NH has it's own NICS POC for handguns, precisely so the state can check potential buyers against its own looney bin databases, etc. Ironically this is "better" than a lot of states in that regard.... go figure.

This is further proof that concession with antis usually accomplishes nothing- because they don't even care when you do something that supposedly benefits their agenda..... so obviously that's not their real agenda- and banning all firearms from private hands really IS their agenda.

Didn't know the NICS thing. Interesting to say the least.

It's just like the bailouts. They're socialistic programs, but you'll never here any of the proponents call it for what it is.

Same thing here.

Here's a graph showing the relationship between Brady Campaign Report Card grades and violent crime rates for the six New England States (most recent numbers available).

See if you can guess which dot is "safe" Massachusetts.

120: Vermont
125: New Hampshire
135: Connecticut
225: Maine
250: Rhode Island
425: Massachusetts

Notice that Vermont and New Hampshire vie for the top honors of the nation's safest state and both have pretty low Brady scores.

Again, all this illustrates is that Brady Campaign, Handgun Control Inc., or whatever their name is now, is only committed to confiscating privately owned firearms. They don't give two craps about "safety".

NH had a mere 20 homicides in the whole state last year, and not all of them even involved firearms. Boston had how many? 80 or so? That's just Boston, I don't know what the total was for all of Mass.
Any moron can figure out for themselves which state is safer, except the Brady Bunch, they're Super Morons and the laws of common sense don't apply to them. [frown]

Don't forget Springfield and Worcester.
