Mailed the form last Wednsday(6/14) and got my NR-CCW Today.

5 business days door to door is downright impressive. Realy makes you wounder why everyone else takes so damn long.

If the .gov would just do things in a timely manner America would be 10x happier.

My desire to move to NH has just increased considerably.

Yeah, our NR permits are a whopping $20 too, as opposed to $100+ for a NR MA permit which is good for a year, and has very few reciprocal states. Is Mass even reciprocal with itself?

NH also charges a very fair $3 for an address change, and they actually send you a new card, with your new address on it.

MA has -NO- reciprocity with any other state. There are states which accept
MA's permit, but not the other way around. (It's only reciprocity if both
states accept each others permits as being valid in either place).

can a Mass resident buy a handgun in NH with a Non Resident permit? Can they buy in Maine with the NH permit? Maybe a better question is can they buy it and bring it back to Mass?

Per Federal law, one can only buy handguns in a state in which one is a resident. The existence of a non-resident LTC has no affect on limitations imposed by this law.

NH does NO background check on you before issuing their CCW, therefore it's "in the door, out the door" issuance. They base their issuance on your having a CCW/LTC from some other state . . . with the logic <?> that the other state did the "heavy lifting" (background check) so you must be OK.

You can BUY a handgun in NH ( CCW permit doesnt mean anything) but it has
to be transferred to an MA FFL before you can actually take posession. This means,
99.9% of the handguns sold in NH, will "bounce" at the recieving MA ffl,
unless theres some kind of MA compliancy documentation with the gun.
For most NH dealers, they don't bother to keep, maintain, or even care about
knowing about MA compliancy crap, so most of the time it's pointless.
There are a few exceptions, such as State Line gun shop, where they have
an "MA OK" marking on their sales tags.... (as well as a couple MA dealers
they use for most of their transfers) but the amount of "MA OK" handguns
they have had there is pretty minimal.

If you're a gunowner, my best advice is to close up shop in the Republik of Mass. and move to New Hampshire where open carry is legal, and the right to own firearms is guaranteed in the state Constitution. The state politicians believe that the rights of the people are more important than the government. I call it true freedom.
