I'm sorry but I don't believe that any of these people are real gun owners. Just as I do not believe the attacks to be those of legitimately lone psychopaths who ordinarily can't even coordinate their own lives, can suddenly pull off soldier of fortune tactics and coordination to light these places up. Anyone who saw the video cannot help but remember there wasn't a cop in sight for nearly 20 minutes of inner city semi auto fire. Kinda reminiscent of how building 7 went down all by itself on 9/11, hopefully one day people will begin to believe their own eyes again.

How about remorseful gun owners who feel a shared responsibility for OUIs even though they do not drink?

Those who relinquish their Rights easily and without opposition did not deserve them in the first place.
I promise to work for mine. Growing the base of our community by adding new first-time shooters who become owners and licensees as well as getting "Rusty" brothers and sisters to the range.

People get raped every day. I hope they also proactively castrate themselves.

That news story is a bunch of BS. Yes, I'm sure some people are turning in guns, but I'm pretty sure 99.99% of them have nothing to do with the shooting.

For example, how do you know that several of those weren't old ladies (that are not interested in guns) that turned some POS old rusted handgun after their husband's passed away?

Also, what is considered a gun over there? Does it have to be a functioning gun?

There are a lot of scenarios where someone might turn a gun IN that have absolutely nothing to do with the shooting.

Who gives a shit what NZ gun owners think either way, buzzfeed. What’s your point for your primarily American audience?

Well, if pressure to turn in your guns is NOT directed at gun owners, then who is this directed at?

Another reason why many people assume that politicians only lie twice. Once when their lips are not moving, and once when they are.

I got stuck watching some stupid channel. The new spokeswoman for the Brady Campaign just stated the over 65% of Americans want commonsense reform and

"tens of thousands of people have turned in their assault weapons" in NZ.

Does anyone know real numbers, or propaganda numbers?

Firearms collections events began in July, and additional events are scheduled through the coming months. By Sunday, 10,242 firearms had been handed into police, according to a New Zealand police spokesperson. Another 1,269 had been handed in under amnesty.

That is according to NPR as of 2 days ago. Link

Not quite "tens of thousands of people" but still a bit disheartening.

Of course, probably some coercion on different levels. Not to mention a national sense of no rights but what your government allows you to have.
