From what I can tell, making the previously grandfathered pre-ban mags illegal is still on. The only change is that they can continue to sell 10 round mags. Not sure about whether the 7 round cartridge limit continues.

He's just trying to avoid getting the whole thing killed under the "commonly in use" standard. If he allows 10 round mags he can point ot the fact that they are commonly made for most magazine fed firearms.

But he's still banning the sale of AR-15s, which are clearly commonly in use, so that dodge won't work.

Nope. All this change does is make it legal to own 10 rounders and to put all 10 in the mag. possession of mags that hold more than 10 is still a felony.

Also if murder was made legal tomorrow anyone who committed murder today would still be guilty of breaking a law. All that matters is if something is legal or not at the time of the offense.
