Hi All,

For those that are reserve component, National Guard or Army Reserve, the DOD recently came out with a new policy in regards to the use of tuition assistance and the Reserve Select GI Bill.
In short you are no longer allowed to draw both TA and the Reserve Select GI Bill for the same courses. You may only select one or the other to use. This only affects Soldiers who use the Select Reserve GI Bill, not the Montgomery or the post 9/11 bills. Mainly any new Soldier or Soldier that does not have Veteran status.

Keep this in mind for those of us returning to school.

I really have an issue with the post 9/11 GI bill. A reservist can do 2 pumps to a combat zone and still rate less than someone who flew a desk for 4 years in the U.S. I lucked out getting accepted into voc-rehab for my back, or I'd never be able to afford law school.
