Can't imagine what it's like to live in a state that goes Democrat in every election, but where 29 out of 32 sheriffs are pro-gun to the point of opposing ERPO. Pretty impressive IMHO.
I agree however I don't see SCOTUS or any republican turning back the clock.

The vast majority of republicans lawmakers - at least at the national level - hate us also. They just barely tolerate us, but only because they need our votes. We should see them merely as speed bumps. The only thing that will reverse our headlong course towards Marxism at this point is a Christian revival.

Also, recognizing the burden of this thread I will say taking back the House, maintaining the Senate majority, and 4 more years is the best option we have.
The promises he’s kept thus far has surpassed any other Dem or Repub president in modern history. While some of the claimed numbers outlined below may be somewhat spurious, many of the accomplishments have me more than thrilled. Vet support, religious liberty, support for Israel, job growth for minorities, fighting the globalist agenda.....Add in 2A and you have a pretty perfect package.

And none of it will matter because the GOP won't have the balls to write a law which federally nullifies Red Flag and/or Lautenberg based on 2A grounds, etc.
The supreme court ain't touching that shit either, especially considering they already threw us under the bus before, although I'd need more
digging, but I am guessing that there must be a very good legal standing why Lautenberg has been allowed to stand as not being unconstitutional- despite the fact that it essentially subverts law and allows people to be punished by standards FAR less than what is seen in typical criminal procedure. It's not like with "Red Flag" or a restraining order that the accused can even get a jury trial by ones peers. (amongst other things, like the emergency provisions that basically let them whack you immediately because "someone said so" )

I'm a little disheartened that bump stocks were banned how they were, ie no option short of disposal with no compensation, and the courts have never made things crystal clear for civilian ownership, however the supreme court could be where the buck stops if the worst came...
For instance if they attempted confiscation or applied NFA/registration to our tens (hundreds maybe) of millions of mag fed semi autos, or the mags themselves, on a national level. Such would be unprecedented, at least in scale and scope, and I believe a constitutionally minded supreme court both acts as a deterrent and safety net in that regard.
If RBG would just go it would further help solidify this.

Looking at it, it looks like the 2014 case that danced around it said more or less that battery (or whatever f***ing word they want to use) against someone domestically that does something as leave a bruise could satisfy the requirement to lose a constitutional right for life.
Which is exactly what the founders envisioned. Absolutely no one beat their wives anytime before the 1970's, and domestic violence was unheard of during the framing, which is why the framers f***ed up and never thought to add all these DQ's into the constitution.
Strong evidence also points that people in colonial times had zero mental health issues, which is why they didn't bring up that as a DQ either. Jail was also not a thing, no one ever was sent to jail, which is why the again f***ed up and forgot to mention that if you go to prison you lose X rights, even if it's like that guy who was selling bull semen resulting in a felony. Bull semen is serious business.
I'm pretty much viewing all of the SCOTUS courts as the enemy at this point.
SCOTUS hasnt handed down a meaningful pro 2A ruling that was carried out in my lifetime. They won't touch it. And if they do it will be written like a mystery novel.
I don't even think #2 is on the table. Both from the point of there arent enough people who will actually physically go door to door to do this to everyone and there isnt a coherent anti .gov movement in this country that would be able to assemble into anything other than an object that's easy to demonize to the masses.
We're in a real bad spot. The battle of common sense gun control is starting to take major hold in our society. The (D)'s did zero in the wake of Beto and his flat out no question about it interest in confiscation of guns he doesnt like. Very few (D)'s even batted an eye. And zero (R)'s introduced any bills federally to make a law to stop people like Beto from doing just that.
Instead we are in death of a thousand cuts, with courts refusing to hear the cases when they have to put them under strict scrutiny. As an example, the 1986 bullshit wouldn't pass that, but SCOTUS would never in a million years hear that case. SCOTUS wont hear mag size, which is another huge problem nor will they handle direct violations of Heller/McDonald. Instead they take on garbage bullshit cases like NYC so they can pretend they are keeping an eye on the 2A. Every pro gun person who supports that case where it is is a useful idiot for the gun control apparatus.
AWB, mags, DQ system with zero realistic chance of rehabilitation, etc. That needs to be seen at SCOTUS yestarday. They won't touch it.

This is a gun forum. By definition most people here like guns, and many are hard core 2A purists. The (R)'s are not and have never been 2A purists. As you pointed out when they had all the keys to the castle they did ZERO to change anything in meaningful ways. But they did PLENTY of statist bullshit in the past 20 years, just like the (D)'s have done or attempted to do plenty of social projects.
All this garbage is a result of the lesser of two evils philosophy that leaves few satisfied.
I agree the manpower is not there for confiscation. We’re being waterboarded drop by drop. The gun control laws will continue to pile up but I doubt many of the nuanced ones will be enforced nationwide. Don’t see don’t tell.
What will happen is migration and resettlement of people like us into areas that support these inalienable rights, as has been going on for sometime. The pressure to move will be based on how much further our rights are trampled. Some have a greater tolerance wrt to family/work/lifestyle. Some do not. Those that tolerate will diminish their own exercise of these rights for feelz of comfort. I myself am borderline ready to move outta here.
At least we do know this country is becoming more and more polarized. Trump and Sanders going head to head? If that is the Dem ticket by November the socialist vs the business man presidential election will be very rare at least in our lifetime. It will probably exhibit a more stark contrast in 2024.
The Constitution itself is at stake each and every cycle of being amended quite severely. I’m hoping for serious reset.
