LifeLine employees told police that Godinez had made threats of violence toward them after he was fired Thursday, indicating that he "had enough firepower to take people out and that he did not care how many people had to get hurt," according to a media release from the MPD.

While officers were investigating the matter at the LifeLine office, Godinez drove by the building. Officers were able to identify his vehicle and he was subsequently stopped and detained, according to police.

Police said they learned Godinez had weapons inside his vehicle during a roadside investigation, and he was subsequently taken into custody. Officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for his vehicle.

While executing the search warrant, officers seized a loaded handgun and an AR-15 rifle with multiple loaded magazines, as well as additional ammunition.”

Hmmm... that seemed to work just fine without any new laws passed...

So he didn't "show up at" the workplace, he drove past.

It's all very convenient for the upcoming ERPO/Red Flag bills in NH, wot?

He kept driving when he spotted a cop there after he had texted a former co-worker he was going to go in and kill everyone there.
Unless any or all of that is fabricated, I'd say it was a good bust and some folks are alive because the kid was stupid enough to telegraph his intentions.

From the article it doesn’t say that the AR was loaded, only a handgun, which is legal. It states that there are loaded magazines in the vehicle. Who doesn’t have loaded magazines in their vehicle?

Just goes further to show no "red flag" law is needed since NH law enforcement can already act on a credibly-reported threat.

1) "I just don't get it," said Rich Hewson, who became an Eagle Scout with Godinez.
Just like the Bloomturd post above.

2) "No one can predict with 100% certainty what would have happened, but based on the reported state of mind, the fact that he drove to that location, the threats that were made and the fact that he had firearms in the car, I don't think it would be a stretch to say that we might have prevented an active shooter event from taking place there," said Merrimack police Capt. Matthew Tarleton.
No Red Flag Law needed (as mentioned by StrangeNH above

Channel 4 reported this as an "assault rifle." Not sure if the police said that to the reporters, or the reporters just assumed it and labeled it as such in their story.

Lesson learned should be don’t be an idiot and make death threats or else you will lose your firearms and right to possess them. Pretty simple.
Yeah, sorry but no tears or sympathy here. Death threats are not cool. Coming so close to carrying them out is even worse. Goodbye. [thinking]
