New Hampshire Senate Democratic Leader Jeff Woodburn says he will file a bill to ban "bump stocks" for guns if his House counterpart cannot muster support to introduce a similar proposal.

Gun debate continues after the mass shooting in Las Vegas that claimed 58 lives and left hundreds injured last week. Woodburn questions if debate will occur at all in Concord.

He vented frustration at the GOP today on NHPR's call-in program The Exchange.(Listen to the show here.)

Robin Skudlarek says "We have the most lax gun laws in the country. Or close to it"

Jeff Woodburn routinely uses his position to attack the Republican majority, this is just political posturing, followup on Shirtless's attempt to bend the rules to get a late bill in:
NHPR said:
House Minority Leader Steve Shurtleff, D-Concord, hopes to introduce a bump stock ban bill. The House Rules Committee meets Oct. 18 to consider allowing it as a late filing. The House deadline for state reps to submit bills was up last month.

Robin Skudlarek, a Londonderry volunteer with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, said political leaders should consider that Americans want action to prevent further gun violence. She cited polling that upward of eight out of ten surveyed support universal background checks.

In New Hampshire, she says, “We have the most lax gun laws in the country. Or close to it.”
Skudlarek omits that we have the lowest homicide rate in the country, or close to it. Shame on Robin. [rolleyes]

NHPR said:
Hoell, who is secretary of the coalition, stands by its slogan as the state’s “only no-compromise gun rights organization.”

“At the end of the day what we don’t want to do is continue down this slippery slope of taking away more and more firearms rights,” Hoell says. “Before we start adding more laws we should make sure we’re enforcing the ones out there.”

Hoell says law enforcement should focus on prosecuting criminals. "Legislation that tries to enact controls or prohibitions on items is a failed policy from the start," he says.

House Rules Committee refuses to bend rules for 'bump stock' ban

The Rules Committee voted along party lines rejecting the request by Minority Leader Steve Shurtleff, D-Penacook, to introduce a late bill. The 6-3 committee vote, with all Republicans opposed, came after House Speaker Shawn Jasper, R-Hudson, acting in his role as chairman of the Rules Committee, spoke against allowing the late filing. He said waiver of the House rules is not necessary to address the issue, since there is still time to introduce a bill in the Senate. Sen. Jeff Woodburn, D-Whitefield, said he'll now introduce a bump stock ban bill in the Senate. Woodburn alluded to comments by Gov. Chris Sununu, who told the Union Leader recently that he would "definitely take a look" at such legislation. Sen. Woodburn has until Nov. 2 to introduce his bump stock ban in the Senate.

Wish you the best. We're about to get screwed here in MA tomorrow on this.

Assuming that Sen Sanborn continues to run for the house seat that Che-Porter is vacating as he previously announced this is pretty much a done deal

Man, I hope you're right. The Sanborns are both solid.

Bought and paid in full by Bloomberg. Whore or sub contractor is the question for her.

$50 million from little lord Fauntleroy.

Sugar Daddy Bloomberg pays good money to Madame Monsanto to keep political prostitutes working hard trying to screw lawful gun owners.
