Does anyone know if a sworn auxiliary police officer can by a new Glock?

The dealer will sell the gun with Police ID and LTC, but the department firearms instructor doesn't know if the officers can legally buy them as auxiliary police officers.

If the officer buys the gun from the dealer but later finds out from the instructor that for one reason or another the auxiliary officer wasn't suppose to be able to buy one, are there any legal repercussions for the officer for possession of the new Glock and high-cap mags?

Is it on the dealer for selling the gun or is it on the officer for possession of the gun and the high-cap mags as it is a gun not approved in MA?

I don't see why not, if the person is sworn with an active ID.

BTW, handgun compliance BS never applies against the owner/buyer, so all you'd really ever have to be concerned with is the mags. The only issue
there is if you quit/retire or something, and you no longer have active status, then you'd probably have to get rid of the postban mags.

As far as the dealer's rear end is concerned, he's safe as long as the buyer is a LEO, and he's only selling something listed on the roster. (which nearly all Glocks are... ) but as the buyer, that's really not even your problem.

Just an add on - the OP mentioned a glock Hi Cap mag as well. While the buying and ownership of a new Glock would never affect the gun owner as Dr Grant said, the post ban hi cap might.
