New Folks Check In and Say Hi #4

Hey

Just joined a few days ago after I got sick of my friend mentioning all the things he's been reading about or doing with fellow northeastshooters- so far so good. I just finished college in at UVM and now I'm back in taxachusetts. Had an FID before, but it expired while I was in school in Vermont. Just passed in my LTC A application and waiting for some good news.

Jeeper2000, don't waste a lot of time getting to a layer. Once you've been denied you set a clock in motion for any appeal, and the longer you wait the more you hurt yourself. Talk to someone soon if your you are serious about getting a LTC... ever!

Cross-X, a gun lawyer specialist on this forum is indeeed a good choice for you.

Welcome to the forum! [wave] I believe the police range is the New Bedford Rifle Range on Woodcock Road in Dartmouth. The dues are $40 per year for New Bedford residents, $60 for non-residents. It is my primary range. No handguns on the rifle line where the benches are, unless you want to get yelled at! [laugh] You can use handguns and most rifles on the 2 or 3 pistol ranges to the right of the benches. Ask one of the range officers when you sign up and they'll happily explain it to you. They rent wooden target holders for $1.00 each, and they also sell paper targets. I get out there as often as I can. Look for the old guy with a cane. [laugh] My name is Mike. Hope to see you there!

Hello folks,
I'm over in the Pacific Northwest. I'm involved in training and "gun techy" stuff so I like to see what is being discussed on the Forums.

Glad to be here thank you...When can I upload a pic to my profile, when can I post a new thread? I have some questions ie..I want to buy a rifle, shotgun, and handgun and would like your advice. I hate posting in the wrong areas ( have a feeling I am doing right now)....just wanted to know.

Thanks again

Hey guys just joined the forum and came across this thread. Thought I'd introduce myself.

Got into shooting in 2004 and joined the Braintree Gun club. Was a memeber there for about 2 years and then I kind of took a break on shooting (got into motorcycles). I moved to the metro west area back in the end of 2007 and earlier this year I rekindled my love for firearms and started shooting again.

I'm currently a member at this sandpit in Northbridge because thats where my shooting buddy goes. It's kind of a drive for me, and there's nothing there as far as facilities goes. I've been thinking about joining Southboro's club since it's not far from me at all.

A big (so to speak) Dwarven welcome to all our new folks.

Glad to be here thank you...When can I upload a pic to my profile
Soon as you become a paid member with your name in green.

Right now. Proper area would be in the Firearms forum.

Checkin' IN

Newbie to the forum, newbie to the gun scene. This forum has been a great resource for me as I have been researching the decision of gun ownership for a while now. Wish I had grown up with with the 2nd Amendment culture but not everyone can be so lucky especially in MA. I just got my Gun Saftey class certification last weekend at MassFirearm School (p.s. Great Course). And now I am planning on applying for my LTC-A in Bev-Town sometime this week. Any Bev specific information on the LTC process would be greatly appreciated. Glad to be here.

Thanks Wacky...Ya I have gone through those, great stuff, especially the list of towns. However I like to go into any situtation as prepared as possible. I have lived in Bev for 25+ yrs, without so much as a traffic or even a parking ticket. I feel I have been a responsible citizen. However still a little nervous on what to put for "reason". I think that the example of I have seen posted a couple times that talks about legal ambiguity is the way to go, however I would like to find corraboration that is the best way to go with my specific liscencing officer.

New Member from CT

i Everyone,

I just joined the forum today, but Ive been regularly shooting for about 5 years now, and sporadically on and off since I was 14.

I live in Fairfield County, CT, not too far east of Danbury.

Always looking to make friends to shoot with, and learn from.

As far as my interests go, Im a little all over the place. Just applied for my C&R, I shoot bullseye at a fun low-key league in the summers and would love to find out more about IDPA or IPSC.

Looking forward to meeting some like-minded folks, on-line and hopefully in person.

Terence
