My seventy something year old neighbor gave me an H&R The American Double Action. He said it belonged to his grandfather. It’s in rough shape but a neat piece of history and made right down the road in Worcester MA. The serial number is 2956 and on the back side of the mother of pearl grips is marked 956 so I’m assuming originally to the gun. Finally found one for myself. 1916 Mauser Obendorf Gew98. 1920 Wiemar Property mark. Converted to 98M ~1936. Given as aid to Nationalist Spain ~1937.
