New Firearms Acquisitions January 2022

How long was the wait and what caliber ?

Wife ordered it in mid August.
Standard bolt face (308), Short Action.
I'm not sure if the time would be the same or shorter for a right handed action or not.

Nice. Do you know who did the scroll work? I have a few of the older Colts and haven't had the nerve/cash to get this done to one of them with a matching pocket watch.
Thank you! John Adams senior ADAMS & ADAMS ENGRAVERS Previous owner had it done. I bought it as it is. John Adams may have also done the nickel plating (not sure about that but it makes sense). The gun was made in 1917 in blue.

I like the sound of your engraving project [thumbsup]

Gambled on the $199 RTI M91 Carcano Moschetto. Got a 1936 matched Brescia. Cleaned up OK, and bore is decent. Had a little Truppen/storage tag with serial number under the rear sight. These were recent Italian imports, not Ethiopean, so they were not stored in goat sheds. According to the stock, the carbine went to the F.A.T. arsenal post war in 1946, and then the F.A.O. arsenal in 1951 for storage.

Picked up a Ruger LCP 2 in .380. It’s replacing a BG .380 that, as a lefty, I kept dumping the mag on. It’s not exactly a beauty (though functional) so no pics. After 150 rounds (drawing from a pocket holster for each mag), there were no mags dropped and no malfunctions. I liked the BG380 and even got used to the loooonnnggggg trigger but the dropped mags when drawing was it’s downfall. Just a function of placement and spring tension I assume. I’m happy.

With that said, a big thank you to @Black Label Defense at the mill, for sourcing one and pricing it very fairly.

  • S&W 617, 4" (22lr 10 shot revolver )
  • Marlin 1894 CST (357 lever action)

A.) Great guns 😍

B.) I'm jealous 😖

C.) I had the 617 about 10 years ago and foolishly sold it, and I had the Marlin .357 lever about 35 years and stupidly sold it. When will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn.-60s folk song, for those of you who don't recognize it-probably not about selling guns I'm guessing [smile]

D.) Emojis suck 🙈🙉🙊

Updated the Stribog configuration. Added a dot, sling swivel, changed the lower to one that uses AR trigger group plus selector. Installed a Rise trigger pack in it (had it on hand). Picked one of the grips that I wouldn't use on a rifle caliber. Showing all of the 30 round mags I have because I can. [rofl2]

Going to run it on Saturday afternoon.
How do you like that? Reliable? I've been thinking about one for a while but got hung up on the proprietary mags. But they just came out with an SP9A3 that uses Glock mags!
