Couple more that came from my old man. On the seecamp there is some surface rust on the top of the slide (not sure if it will come through) any ideas to remove safely without damaging the finish? Also got a Walther .22, honestly not a fan as the thing jams consistently but it was free sooo.

That was one of the first guns I purchased, and I still have it.
Try some polishing compound used for car wheels. I had good luck cleaning up a boron BCG

Affordable , that's a good start. I completely disagree with your opinion about sucking out of the box.
You can disagree. They suck compared to many other offerings out of the box. Savage a22 and b22 just 2. Better barrel, trigger, stock and function for less money. Go try for your Appleseed out of the box and get back to me.

Colt Classic 1911 in .45 ACP. Series 70 firing system, blued finish, checkered rosewood grips, National Match barrel. Can't wait to take it out.
