I do the same.

The big problem for you will be the powder as shipping it is expensive with the hazmat fees. The black powder group at my range get together and order it in bulk as a "group buy" to offset the hazmat fees.

T/C has a video about “seasoning” a barrel by shooting a box of Maxi Ball bullets with the lube in the grooves. Continuous shoot, patch, shoot, patch to heat the barrel. And some say run a jagged patch with JB Bore Paste 30 passes on a new barrel. As with any rifle, there’s a lot of myth and lore to consider.
