In! I have 75,40,20,15 and 2m/440. I'd say HF is better than VHF and evenings are probably best for time. I could do NCS too...

NES'ers come from a large region. 75M would be best in terms of propagation. The other option is Echolink, but that's not real radio. Thursday evening does not work for me until next June. Any other day is OK.

You'll be fine. The first hour is always spent doing the "hey, that's not open for me, try XXXX", "Hey, why can't I hear anything when I stick my mike in my ear".

Yes. It will probably take a while to figure out a band/frequency that works for everyone. I'll check in as soon as I can.
