I played there about 5 weeks ago and they had just aerated the greens (we knew that) so putting was "difficult" to say the least. I think the course was originally a 9 holer so the front and back nines are pretty different.

I have scheduled a round of golf with a friend. He lives in Medfield and I'm in the Merrimack Valley. Any suggestions on a decent place to play somewhere along 495 that would be around halfway between us?

Yea, I enjoyed it, a lot of holes just over 300 to 350 so it was fun going for the greens a lot.

I got the WEEI golf card this year. Got six more to play.

Although I'm not sure you'd call what I do "playing"

Butterbrook in Westford is a nice track. Shaker Hills or Red Tail is also really good.

I played Wentworth Hills in Plainville today. Had a good day and shot 87.

The golf carts came equipped with speakers and 4G LTE service. Slacker radio and other apps were installed on the screen. Cart girl was great too....

Been playing most Sundays at Bretwood. Doing decent this year and playing consistently in the Mid 80s. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a new set of Rogue irons. Had a fitting and the difference over my 5 year old Adams basic set was pretty big.

My wife bought me a sweet hitting net for my birthday. I purchased a really nice mat to go along with it....

I also bought a swing caddie to help me out with distances when hitting into the net.

Nets are fines to work on form. Try chipping into a net all winter in your basement. You will find nothing but goly eff momemts when you get out on the range/course.

The net has been really helpful for me. I dont have a lot of time these days so when I put the kid down for bed at around 8pm I go out and hit 30 balls into the net around 830/9PM.

I've been working on my swing speed with my swing caddie. Also it has allowed me to work on my grip. I'm hitting the ball a lot straighter now... I just don't have great distance.... = swing speed

I tried the Cobra One Length Irons at Golf Warehouse in NH. I like them a lot. It is weird hitting every club like a 7, but I will probably pull the trigger on a set.

Might do one length of 7, 6, 5, 4 ... and standard for 8, 9, PQ, GW, SW.

Time for a thread resurrection. Four 60-year-old guys yesterday won the annual Hurricane Open (scramble) contributing to our alma mater, Amherst Regional High School. I'm the only one who didn't play on the golf team back then (cuz baseball). IMG_1757 (1).JPG Three eagles, even in a scramble, is an ok feat.

Played River Bend yesterday. Had a decent day. Birdied the 3rd hole and had a 41 on the front nine but I coupled that with a less than stellar 48 on the back for an 89.

    Played Acushnet River Valley today.

Teed off at 33 degrees and finished at 50 degrees.

Shot a 93. One birdy and 2 or 3 pars.... Not great but not bad. They had the Blues pretty far back.

Well the season is almost upon us. I just bought a new driver and got fitted for new irons. Picked up a Calloway Rogue sub zero and taylormade p790 irons. Irons won’t be here for 2 1/2 weeks so I’ll be jonesing to play until then

I got a new set of Rogues this past summer. I love them. Hitting the ball 10yds further per club, same lofts. I was using a crappy set before.

I cannot wait to start playing this year. I'm traveling so much for work I really need to start bringing my clubs with me.

It’s going to be a challenge for me to find enough time to play, it may end up being 9 holes after work a lot but the last few years I’ve barely played and my handicap suffered for it

Single length irons. What do we think?

    I suck, by the way.

So I have been involed in a traveling league of duffers and hackers for 5-6 years now. I met these guys randomly and joined their league. You must have a GHIN handicap and the league is $40 plus greens fees. The $40 pays for your yearly GHIN handicap. Its a really fun league that plays mostly around central mass and southern NH. They run a fed-ex style points system including major tournements and a really fun scramble and meal at the end of the year. We have a website and I am hoping I'll be allowed to set up a facebook page. Please check us out here at www.mpgolf.net. If anyone is interested in joining send me a PM here. There is no commitment to play every single saturday but I can assure you'll meet some good guys who just like to play for fun.

Played Wentworth Hills.... 3rd round of the year.

Scored my best ever at 79. Pared every hole on the back nine except 18. I missed a 6 footer... I was so mad!
